When we were leaving, I said to Nony, I don’t want to return the key to you because my heart wants to stay here.

Located in Dos Brazos, Casa Bolita provides accommodation with a private pool, a terrace and pool views. With river views, this accommodation features a patio. We were concerned when we booked this as it is off grid, and we were unsure how we would cope staying there for 4 nights in the middle of nowhere. It was absolutely fine though and we would strongly recommend the place. When you arrive, you leave your car at the Rangers office and walk 10 mins to the accommodation. Val and Ron, who run the place, were so helpful with guiding us there and helping to carry bags. They were so friendly and interesting to talk to about their life there. The house is lovely, being very well equipped, clean, and comfortable. It is very private, not being overlooked and surrounded by a large garden. The place is off grid, but there is solar powered USB point for phones, and WiFi is accessible at the Rangers office. Ice was delivered every morning to use in the Pelican cooler, which worked so well to keep everything cool. You need to take all the food with you as there are no restaurants in the local area. The pool is big and lovely to cool down in. The wildlife is amazing, just be prepared to share the accommodation with some of it, there is a small colony of bats in one of the bedrooms, which are harmless and don't bother you and are fascinating to watch. The bird dawn chorus is one we will never forget, so many sounds, along with the magical fire flies at night. Can't list everything we saw, but highlights including the swallow tailed kites, white hawk following the squirrel monkeys along the river. We sat by the river for 3 hours early one morning and let the wildlife come to us. We saw so much! It is a wonderful place and an experience we will never forget and are so glad we did. If you like wildlife, this is the place for you.

Set in Dos Brazos, in a property dating from 2018, Yejos features barbecue facilities and common space with free WiFi. Dos Brazos is a lovely friendly community close to the rain forest. There are fantastic guided tours available from the tourist office (which also has free wifi) We took a walking tour into the Corcovado National Park. The guide Jose was extremely knowledgeable and patient, a great experience but there are lots of places you can go by ,yourself. The accommodation is basic (which you would expect from the price) but very comfortable and clean and the garden is full of wildlife. There is a regular bus service to Dos Brazos 2-3 times a day. You can get some fruit and veg at the tourist office, and there is a small shop a few hundred metres further up the road past the footbridge.

Los Mineros Guesthouse is located in Dos Brazos del Rio Tigre, 50m from Corcovado National Park entrance and 13 km from Puerto Jiménez. It is set in beautiful gardens which can be seen from the rooms.... Suzanna and Chani were amazing! They were both extremely welcoming and helpful! Staying at Los Mineros was my favourite part of my trip to Costa Rica. The guesthouse is surrounded by nature and you see all kinds of wildlife. It’s a perfect place to recharge. Chani is a great guide and showed me beautiful places in the jungle and numerous animals. I feel very fortunate to have found this guesthouse!

Situated in front of the school, El Manantial de Corcovado provides a garden and terrace. All rooms boast a private bathroom. The accommodation offers free WiFi. We stayed two nights at the location and it was very pleasent. The room was simple and clean. We slept well with AC and used the kitchen for cooking. It had everything we needed. The porch is cosy and we saw two Aras in the garden and plenty of other birds. We also did a two day tour with Kerley to la Sirena. It was an exceptional experience in the national park. He is a great guy and a very good gide. He is really pationate about his job and it was very nice talking wih him. We highly recommend staying and doing a tour with him.
