We stayed at this hidden gem with our family of 4 during a rainy period. The hotel and garden are beautiful and clean. The view is amazing. It’s located outside of the city, which we really liked because it was peaceful.
The personnel of this hotel were super friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good, more than enough food. We had dinner once in the restaurant and recommend to try the Sri Lanka curry.
My oldest son, my husband and I had a very relaxing afternoon getting a spa treatment very good with reasonable price. This place is definitely worth a visit.

If you are traveling from Colombo and back 2for one night stay in Kandy the plan should be 1. Breakfast at Ginadasa Thalaguli restaurant 2. Visit Gadaladeniya Temple 3. Lankathilaka Temple 4. Embakka Devalaya (Temple) 5. Peradeniya Royal Botanical Garden (take the electric car) 6. late Lunch at Royal Mall Peradeniya 7, Strait to your Hotel check in 8. around 4.00 pm You may visit Sandagiri seya (Sthupa at the top of a mountain) 9. Then the Famous Temple of tooth relic (Before 8.00 pm) 10. Dinner at KCC 11, Back to Hotel. Day 02 on your way to Colombo. 12. Tea museum (Enjoy the ice mint tea) and don't forget to buy tea (40% discount) 13. Bird park (I personally don't like and waste of time and money, they should have done better in line with nature rather than being too artificial) 14. Pinnawala Elephant orphanage (Elephant bath at 2.00 pm) 14. Lunch at Pinnawala 15. Pinnawala zoo (I didn't go) 16. Back to Colombo.

A cultural eye-opener.
A cultural eye-opener. Lots to see and do - but most major attractions are spread far from one another. Expect to take a couple full days touring Kandy and the surrounding areas. Two of my strongest recommendations: the British Was Cemetery. The caretaker has tended the graveyard for decades and knows each detail about each soul laid to rest. Also a sight worth seeing is Peradeniya University. A remarkable campus that lives up to its reputation as one of the nicest in all of South Asia.

The botanical gardens was amazing and really value to visit.
The botanical gardens was amazing and really value to visit. I didn't interested to see the famous temple and another one important thing is in commuting hours the traffic jam was remarkable and every one should calculate staying in the traffic in their schedule .

Transit point to big attractions in Sri Lanka. Ie.
Transit point to big attractions in Sri Lanka. Ie. Ella, Sigriya, Dambulla and Polonaruwa. Gateway to mountainous region of Sri Lanka. Kandy is also a historical town with famous Temple of Tooth. This town is best served with affordable eateries and several modes of transportation. Cooler weather compared to the Sri Lankan capital city, Colombo.
This place is amazing! It has an amazing pool area where you can relax and watch the sunset over the city. Also, the terrace and indoor area is beautiful and easy to socialise with other guests. The interior of the rooms and bathrooms is also very beautiful. The shower was the best I had in Sri Lanka and finally hot water!! Also, I met some lovely other solo traveler. The location is very nice - just a little bit out of the noisy Kandy up a hill to relax after a full day in the city. But still, you are just a quick Tuktuk drive away.
Location was fantastic, it overlooked Kandy on a quiet hillside, whilst only being a short drive via tuk tuk into town. Great walks around the hotel that lead into some quieter tea plantations and temples to visit.
Staff were very helpful and always keen have a chat and offer tips for exploring the local area.
Facilities were wonderful, there's a pool area that overlooks Kandy and you can sit out and watch over the hills and city. The food served in the restaurant was delicious, would recommend trying the Sri Lankan breakfast!
A real gem of a place to stay. A small boutique hotel elevated above the Lake of Kandy. The British Colonial style is such a pleasure to experience. The rooms are very spacious and look onto the beautiful garden surround. The view of Kandy is simply stunning from the garden terrace. We walked down the hill to the centre of the town which only took 10 minutes (it was downhill!). The garden is well kept and it was pleasant having afternoon drinks on the terrace. The staff were great and made us feel very welcome and accommodating.
I will say this is the best place I have stay in Sri Lanka, if you ever gonna visit Kandy. This place is the best choice for no doubt
It’s not in the heart of the town so it’s pretty quiet, you won’t hear any annoying honks from the town
The hosts are super friendly, they serve cup of Ceylon tea with cookies on arrival it was soooo nice with the view of the place, and the place is clean, comfortable and the home made Sri Lankan breakfast also really good. I will defo book the same place when I visit Kandy again
Want to hear the birds singing in the morning yet sleep only 500 meters from the city centre? Mirabe Funk Bunks is located up the mountain slope just before the forest takes over. So peaceful and quiet is the essence of this place. Anuradha runs his hotel with typical Sri Lankan cleanliness and tasty food. We stayed 3 nights in the private rooms with balcony. great place to just chill and listen to the wind. FYI…budget hostel rooms available as well. Wifi was good enough.
Best hotel in Kandy. It takes six minutes to get to the lake using the shortcut the hotel told us. Great rooftop, clean bedding, fragrant towels. Even all the faucets, showers, and toilets in the bathroom are all new. Above all, hotel manager Susa's warm hospitality touched us. He is the most memorable person I have ever met in Sri Lanka. Great location at an affordable price, great stay. Susa thanks a lot. You're Best hotel manager
Great view from the breakfast terrace; one of the best breakfasts we’ve had in Sri Lanka, amazing daal! Host was very friendly and happy to help with organising tuktuk/asking about our travel plans etc.
Think we were in one of the older style rooms, which was still nice but not as big as photos on booking.com! Still, very happy with the stay and good value. 10-15 tuktuk to the main town; very hilly but drivers don’t seem to mind!
A large and quiet room away from the hustle and bustle of Kandy. Just a quick 10 minute tuk tuk to the centre of town, which cost approx rs 500. The grounds and communal areas were gorgeous - surrounded by trees and lush foliage. We had a morning swim and it felt like paradise. The staff were more than willing to assist with drinks, luggage, tuk tuks and anything else we needed. Fully recommend. Thank you for having us!!
The hotel is in a good location and in close proximity to the Kandy city centre and all the attractions around.
The rooms were new with comfortable beds and of a good size room for the price. The authentic Sri Lankan breakfast is good and recommended for an extra $10.
The staffs were super friendly and very helpful.
They are able to provide assistance with transport schedules and directions. Highly recommended!
Villa Rosa is quietly located on the mountains above Kandy. We didn't miss anything during our 2-day stay. The staff is very attentive. The rooms are very clean and spacious. We received a free upgrade from the property. The hotel offers to look over the shoulder of the chef. It's really worth it. We got some ideas to take home. This hotel was the nicest hotel of our trip through Sri Lanka. We'd love to come back.
The hotel is impeccably clean and cozy, boasting spacious rooms with an amazing view. The breakfast is exceptionally tasty, and they provide a complimentary ride from the train station. Additionally, they organized two trips for us, both within and outside Kandy, the guys are so helpful and sure if we will be back someday I'll stay there.
A lovely hotel. Very comfortable, clean room with luxurious feel. Peaceful location high on a hill overlooking Kandy and forest. Very helpful and friendly staff who got us two tuktuks when needed among other things. Really delicious breakfast and dinner, among the best food we had in two weeks in Sri Lanka.
Excellent hotel! All new and the view is fantastic, it overlooks the lake and Kandy town but is a very quick 10mins walk into town. The rooms are super comfortable and the pool is great! We stayed four nights and the breakfast is amazing. The staff are all very friendly and helpful.
We really enjoyed staying here! Very luxurious room with under bed lighting and a stunning bathroom. Also a nice balcony area. The breakfast was simple but delicious, definitely one of the best hotel breakfasts we had during our time in sri lanka. The hosts were kind and attentive.
the hotel is located really nicely nearby the lake and city. you can walk for like 15 mins into the town. from Kandy train station it’s maximum 5 minute Tuktuk ride. the guy who’s running the place was super nice and helped us with laundry even.
The rooms are very big and the hotel is spotless clean. The staff is amazing and so helpful. I definitely recommend this hotel ! If I come back to Kandy would love to stay again in this place .
Thank you to all the staff
The rooms were clean, very comfortable, very calm place and the staff was amazing. They went over and beyond to help make our stay enjoyable. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting to Kandy.
Fantastic stay at the BPR Hotel. Cleanliness, Staff, Prices, and Meals are outstanding. Convenient location at Kandy city. Good for Business travelers, families too. Recommended for everyone.
