The meals were especially delicious. The people who worked there were very helpful in planning activities. The view from our room and the balcony was gorgeous. We loved being offered tea and cookies upon our arrival.

Truly the staff is the highlight of this beautiful property. The restaurant service, the housekeeping, everyone is lovely and top notch. I love the room, this is the 5th or more time I've stayed here over the years and it keeps its quality, the rooms are beautiful, the views are absolutely incredible and again, the staff is the best!

Haputale is a small, sleepy Sri Lankan town - as opposed to a tourist town - in a beautiful hill country setting. It is much quieter and much cheaper to stay in than the tourist hot-spots of Nuwara Eliya or Ella, with a range of locally-run guesthouses, rooms and restaurants. The sleepy train station connects it with Colombo, Kandy and Ella, buses pass through and tuk-tuks can take you to nearby waterfalls or the iconic Lipton's Seat from which the stroll down through tea fields is stunning. There are several Olives restaurants in Haputale - Viewpoint was our favourite both for food and a stunning view. If you want a party then avoid Haputale as you'd be bored.

The trip to Lipton's seat takes about 5 hours round trip but is amazing...much better experience than the tour book suggested. An absolute delight was the opportunity to have tea and excellent snacks while in c the clouds at the peak...for an amazingly low price.
Views from our balcony were spectacular and the food - both dinner and breakfast - was top notch

Haputale is no substitute for Ella it's an extra stop.
Haputale is no substitute for Ella it's an extra stop. Haputale has fabulous views right in town and from your lodge, but there is a draught of travellers hang out cafés, while in Ella, you got to hike for the views, the town is packed with cafés and restaurants that makes you want to stay longer. Lodges in Haputale doesn't seem to put people together for shared transport to Horton plains anymore. Almost nobody is going there. I got a very good deal on transport there, but bailed in the gate and went back, due to extortionate entrance fees that added up to $49 for 1 person! - for a 3h hike!!!! - Lipton seat is well worth it though. Go early in the day before the clouds are covering it. The ride up takes you through beautiful tea plantations as well.

It's a lovely and unique area for trekking and hiking. The weather is wonderful, it's a place where the weather changes 6 times a day. Beautiful.
Bambarakanda Falls, Diyaluma Falls, Upper Diyaluma, Haputale Mountain, Lipton's Seat, and Horton Plains are nearby places. Adhisham's Bungalow is another unique experience to see the wildlife in night.

Easy access to famous Adisham bungalow and numerous walking trails. Good base for excursions to Horton Plains, Lipton's Seat, and impressive waterfalls. Haputale station is on scenic railway line through Hill Country. Best to stay in a guesthouse in the surrounding countryside rather than in town centre.
This place is exceptional, the views over the tea fields and surrounding mountains and valleys are wonderful. Rooms are spacious and clean, shower is steaming hot. Balcony nice to sit out on and breathe the fresh mountain air. Beds are comfortable with sufficient blankets for the cold weather.
The owner is super friendly and helpful. We had dinner at the upstairs restaurant it was delicious and filling, as was breakfast in the morning. We would definitely recommend this hotel to travellers passing through the beautiful haputale.
Beautiful guesthouse with massive rooms, big bed, warm shower and cosy blankets. The host was very friendly and introduced us into his home with warmth. The breakfast was delicious and the view was amazing, even though it was a little cloudy whilst we were there. It would be even better on a sunny day. We will definitely return here again when we return to Haputale. Highly recommend staying here. Great value, definitely worth the money and more!
It was a comfortable and pleasant stay ,we enjoyed every minute here .The host were friendly and helpful ,they helped us to book tuk tuk and planned our trips to Lipton seat ,adiaham bungalow ,diyaluma falls, and many tea factories .The food was exceptional, no doubt in that .Thanks for the wonderful dhal curry 😀....WiFi was super speed, and hot water showers were the best,If you ever plan to Haputale ,Farah Guest Inn is a must stay place
My favorite hotel in Sri Lanka!
Our room was spacious and clean. All rooms, including the dining room, have this extraordinary view.
Breakfast was nice (fresh fruits, different sweets and Sri Lankan dishes served). Diner was delicious! It was a variety of curries, vegetables and rice.
The Hotel is in walking distance to town and train station (about 20min). A perfect base for every kind of hiking trip in that beautiful area!
Such a nice place to stay in Haputale. The terrace with a view is absolutely stunning, the room is clean and comfortable and the mom is the best cook! Best rice and curry we had in the whole trip. The whole family is really welcoming and nice, they improvised a cooking class so I could learn how to make these delicious curries at home. Breakfast is also very good. Don’t miss this place!
Recently stayed at this hotel and had an incredible experience! The rooftop space offers an amazing view, perfect for unwinding after a long day. The staff were exceptionally friendly and provided superior service throughout my stay. Not to mention, the meal at the hotel's restaurant was absolutely delicious. Highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting the area!
We love the place. The staff is very helpful and warm. The place has Beautiful views. We would recommend the place to our family and friends. Looking forward for more fun . And it’s a romantic place too for couples. Rooms were spacious and clean .Enjoyed our stay and hoping to visit again. Note Horrible experience bad breakfast. Please fix this issue thanks 😕
One of the best treatments received in Sri Lanka. Clean room, terrace with fantastic view. I had dinner twice and the food was good and not spicy. Mr.Naleef is a beautiful person, and he was invaluable to me in organizing the tours and for the complicated next stage. In Haputale the Villino is the best possible choice.
Beautiful hotel with stunning view and very friendly staff. The owner is great and helped us with everything. We loved the beautiful garden! Excellent place for families as well. The food is great, the atmosphere very relaxed. By far the best place we stayed in Sri Lanka!
Haputale is a quiet, lovely town and the Nest is close to the station if you use the shortcut. The host is really helpful and answered all of our questions regarding the journey. The rooms are specious, clean, the view is nice and the price is great. We really liked it!
This is a small hotel with 6 rooms. But the rooms are very big than 5 star hotels. It's a family business. Very good friendly staff and home made food. Price is very reasonable. The rooms charges are very reasonable. I recommend for enyone going to haputhale stay here.
The highlight was the fantastic and abundant breakfast with a variety of local and continental food while enjoying great views. The owner was very friendly and helped us plan our activities. Very close to Haputale train station.
Great local staff/family run. Simple, functional rooms that had everything you need. Absolutely stunning views off the shared balcony/patio area out the front.kbe this place and will definitely stay again when next in Haputale
Its a beautiful view with nice rooms. The owner welcomed us and gave us all the necessary information. Very near to the Haputale main city just walking distance. will definitely recommend and plan to come back Thank you!
This was one of the best stays on our trip in Sri Lanka. The owner (Mr.Chamara) so friendly and helped us lot. Super friendly staff. The hotel had a grate view over the valley and tea fields.
The rooms were clean, very comfortable, and the staff was amazing. They went over and beyond to help make our stay enjoyable. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting downtown
Small family owned business with local hospitality. Great view of the Fox Trot hill and valleys of Haputale ; great view of distant hillsides and ranges.
