The most popular Wales seaside resort, Llandudno covers a peninsula with 2 sandy coastlines. The North Shore’s wide Victorian promenade is lined with period buildings which now house seafront hotels and guest houses. The beach itself stretches all the way between the Little Orme and Great Orme headlands, passing an outdoor swimming pool.
A historic tram climbs to the peak of Great Orme, where Bronze Age copper mines can be visited. The top is also reachable by cable car from Happy Valley, a recreation area with gardens and an artificial ski slope.
A road runs around the base of the headland passing the historic Grand Hotel, a property available on Booking.com and overlooking the Grade II-listed pier – the longest in Wales. The West Shore is much less developed and the Maesdu Golf Course forms most of its shoreline.
Of course, Llandudno has its fair share of traditional seaside pursuits such as donkey rides and fish and chip shops.
The town also has a modern retail park near the train station and Venue Cymru event centre, and wrought-iron canopies shade smaller shops along Mostyn Avenue, Broadway and Street. The latter - Mostyn Street - is effectively the high street and becomes brightly decorated during the Victorian carnival in May.
I am from the area but moved many years ago. It was nice to visit like a proper tourist/ holidaymaker!
A lot has changed in Llandudno since i lived there. Very clean wherever I went and some great places to eat and drink in.
I have always rated the north prom which is where my hotel was located with the stunning bay capturing the Orme / pier and little Orme.
Good to see a few of the hotels are having work done to them. This will mean that the area will remain as it is with plenty of character.

LLandudno is ideal for day trips or short, perhaps two day, visits. There are bus services to other locations so visits to other towns are possible if Llandudno becomes dull. There is not a lot to do, I found.
If you are feeling fit, the walk to the top of the Great Orme takes around an hour with a coffee shop on the top. If walking is not an option you can take the tram up and/or down, which is recommended. The car park at the top is a bit expensive. There is also a service bus to the top.

Take lots of cash cos the cable car up the Great Orme only takes cash...£14 per person.Town is not bad for its age and there are some great cafes.Parking is a nightmare.Great views from Great Orme...the tram is wonderful and the views from the top are spectacular.Great place as a tourist base for North Wales but keep petrol tank topped up whenever you can as there are hardly any petrol stations anywhere for miles.Hotel had no phone in room...room 14 at The Marine Hotel.
Comfortable, spacious and clean. Close to both main promenade and also West Shore. Dog friendly as well. Bed very comfortable and the bedroom is a great size. We were able to park directly outside the apartment which was helpful. Communication from the owner was good with any questions answered promptly.
Have stayed in some fab hotels in Llandudno ..St George's, The Merrion, The Imperial to name a few however in terms of value for money - this apartment is great especially when you compare it against what else you could get for that price.
position of hotel we had a.sea view room. Staff worked hard and there were not a lot of them. a 3 course meal from a set menu was £20 which we thought good value. This is predominately a coach stay hotel and was better than we were expecting. we booked to meet up with someone on a coach trip who was staying there. people need to remember these hotels have all struggled in the last 2 years and yes it’s tired jn parts but they need visitors to generate income to resolve this. Would stay again.
Now what a surprise 😁
We had been given a double sea view Room on arrival (ROOM NO:110) with a large bay window. It was great for watching the annual LLandudno Fireworks (Sunday 29.10.2023) plus the room was clean as was the bathroom with clean fresh bed linen and towels. And to top it off we had a coffee ☕ machine all for the bargain price of £31.00!!!. The hotel is located a little bit out of town but that's no problem. As it's a nice walk along the promenade ..!
Our group occupied two spacious, comfortable, clean ensuite rooms, one with and one without sea view, in this pretty and distinctive Victorian villa hotel in an excellent location on the front at Llandudno. Staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel has an attractive front-garden terrace with chairs for sitting out as well as a large, comfortable indoor lounge. Cooked breakfasts are served in a buffet arrangement.
The hotel could not be in a better location, Right on the sea front, and literally a few minutes of a walk to pretty much everything Llandudno has to offer, The rooms are well kept and tastefully decorated with all modern amenities. I have stayed at this hotel before and i always find the staff very friendly and helpful, This hotel will be the first i check for availability for my next stay in Llandudno.
Perfecty situated to explore this area of Clwyd with excellent rail and bus connections.
Glan y Môr is simply stunning with views over Llandudno seafront. the hotel is spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated and the breakfasts set you up for an entire day.
Liz and Mark are the perfect hosts, so welcoming and helpful.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend
The bedroom was perfect enough room with a dog comfortable and with on-suit tidy and well kept.
The dining area for us and our pet is very good, with a sea view and plenty of space, food of excellent quality and good choice and to our choosing.
The location was nr the pier central to Llandudno season parking was easy and close to the hotel.
It's an older promenade hotel that has been well maintained. I was pleased, as a single traveller, to be allocated a room with sea view. The room was clean and the water was hot. Situated in a very convenient part of Llandudno. The staff were friendly and efficient, especially the breakfast team.
From check in to check out the hosts, the breakfasts, the room, the shower, the location and the sea view were 5 star rating. We stayed in room 14 which exceeded our expectations. Thank you Laurie and Paul for an amazing hotel for our four day break. Will definitely book again.
Great hotel, staff , owner all wonderful no complaints at all,
breakfast just right everything you wanted, clean comfy room, and
the location 5 minutes from the beach. the owner Selina was A+

Everything, hotel, location, wonderful staff, sea views from our top room, on site parking which is definitely a bonus. What more could you ask. If we ever go to Llandudno again this will definitely be the place to stay. A tough act to follow.
Hotel is located in a perfect position. Very pleasant owners and staff. Lovely dining room and bar area. Breakfast was lovely. The evening menu was varied and reasonably priced.
Bedroom was small but clean and shower was hot and powerful
The hotel was lovely, clean and modern. Jess was really welcoming and helpful. The sea view room was perfect. Location slightly out of Llandudno but a lovely walk in the evening.
