This is a hidden gem. Every detail is perfect, great location (it is an uphill walk to. Get to but totally worth it) drop dead gorgeous view from the room. Our host was so lovely, enthusiastic and accommodating. Our only wish was that we stayed longer than two nights. It was our highlight of our northern Spain trip.

We loved Cudillero.
We loved Cudillero. We only had 3 nights but that was not enough. We could easily have stayed for a week as there was so much to do. We explored the village by foot, we ate in many of the wonderful seafood restaurants (Recommend El Remo and Isabel), we bought groceries and shopped and we drove to several nearby Sandy beaches. We went for a drive to the valley of the bears which was very picturesque. However there are also many lovely cities close by that we ran out of time to visit like Oviedo. There was also a rail trail in the Valley of the bears that we would like to come back and do as it looked like a stunning ride.

54 steps from street level to 2nd floor room.
54 steps from street level to 2nd floor room. I am 84 and my wife is 76; she has a mobility problem. No mention was made of the steep climb. I should have asked, maybe, but we do not normally have problems with a reasonable number of stairs.
Car parking. A public park 12 minutes walk away is unacceptable.
The bathroom was very small.
The curtains were could not beheld back because of the 45° slope. So the windows couldn’t be opened. It was over 30° when were there. The curtains had to be close at night as there was a huge public street lamp right outside the bedroom. It was on all night. There was also a public path right outside the bedroom.

Cudillero is a delightful little town with a gorgeous fishing harbor, tourists on summer weekends, a couple of pleasant walks (one with an amazing view of the harbor and the ocean), a few restaurants, and a very pretty 2-star hotel named La Casona de Pio. We enjoyed fresh fish at the Casa de Julio. We also had an excellent lunch at El Cafe del Faro, right next to our hotel.

I was there for 2 days. Way too long. Half a day would do it.
Food is very expensive in the restaurants. The idea being that seafood direct from the Cantabrian sea is expensive, but I'd have thought the lack of transport costs would make it cheaper than in Madrid, but that doesn't seem to be the case.

A lovely little fishing port.
A lovely little fishing port. Plenty of restaurants serving local food, which were still open in October when we went.
Lovely for a walking holiday (as long as you have strong legs as it's all steep hills!).
This hotel is a real find! Beautiful and classic building with complete modernization in all areas. Great location with parking and easy access to Cudillero and the surrounding areas. Spacious, updated and clean rooms in a quiet area very close to many good restaurants. The hosts/owners are delightful people, knowledgeable about the area and so welcoming. Excellent authentic regional breakfast. We’re so glad we chose to stay here!
The fisherman’s cottage was an over and cozy place to stay in Cudillero. It was cozy and the view from the apartment was so picturesque. Manuela our host made every effort to make our stay so enjoyable, The bed was the best we had stayed in so far. The fact that there three flights in the building did not bother us in the least and we are seniors.
I Loved everything about this place, comfortable rooms, the reception lady was amazing and super friendly, location is just fantastic, the hotel is small but beautiful and has everything you need, just 5 min away walking you have a huge parking lot if you are driving.
My family and I had the best experience ever.
THANK YOU VERY MUCH.

The property is beautiful with fruit trees and flowers everywhere and was a nice break from staying in hotels. It is a short drive to the beach in one direction, and to Cudillero in another. The hosts were quite friendly and each of the three rooms is comfortable.
This hotel is amazing right in the heart of cudillero. The staff treated me like family and helped me in every way possible to have a lovely experience. They have a restaurant cafe on the porch which is so nice too - you can't go wrong staying here
In the heart of Cudillero, this was a wonderful find. The rooms were very clean & the staff incredibly kind. All were happy to make suggestions for dining and exploring the area.
We stayed one night at the hotel and had a very comfortable stay. The rooms were clean and spacious. A short drive down to the town and then a walk down to the old harbour.
Very comfortable and well equipped, quiet and with access to the pretty garden. Excellent bar with good food and lovely hotel for breakfast, both a few minutes walk away.
Everything was OK . Cristina gave us great tips to discover Cudillero and surroundings. her hotel is well situated and we had coffee , fruit juice and cake for breakfast !
The manageress was really helpful, made us an early breakfast and a sandwich to take with us. The hotel had a lift and was in a v central but quiet spot.
