Main criticism is that one cannot walk to the airport. That is why I chose the hotel. I was surprised that we had to spend 20 euroes for a taxi in each direction.

The birthplace of Picasso is as colorful as an artists palette, from the deep blue of the Mediterranean Sea to the golden sun, which gives 300 days of sunshine per year. When the sun sets, the vibrant nightlife awakens and youll find your place among the youthful square of the old center, the trendy bars of La Malagueta or on one of the terraces of Pedregalejo.
There's also rich history underneath the sun and fun. Alcazaba is a Moorish castle from the 11th century and just next to it are the remnants of a Roman Theatre. The white stone tower of the Malaga Cathedral rises up in the heart of the city centre, and offers an interesting respite from sun bathing on the magnificent and popular beaches.
A more modern history can be appreciated by visiting the birthplace of Picasso and a museum full of exhibitions by Malaga 's most famous resident. A more relaxed Spanish city than Madrid and Barcelona, Malaga is still the gateway to the Costa del Sol and the busy Malaga Airport is only 6 miles from the center of town.
From budget hostels to 5-star luxury hotels, with Booking.com you're sure to find the perfect place to stay for your sunny vacation.

I had no idea that Malaga was such a beautiful city as I've only been to the airport in the past. This time however, we had the chance to drive through the city centre and admire the vibrance and the architecture of our surroundings. I would have loved to have stayed longer. Our Parador de Málaga Gibralfaro overnight stay was perfect as usual for a Parador with breathtaking veiws of the city. Highly recommended.

Malaga is a fabulous city.
Malaga is a fabulous city. Take a taxi from the bottom of Calle Larios up to the Parador Gibralfaro for lunch and then walk back down to the Alcazabar, which is a MUST visit. It’s a smaller version of the Alhambra.
A walk around the port area is nice and then the historic centre of the city has a wonderful atmosphere.
Don’t forget to visit the Picasso museum and the cathedral.

There is a lot to see and do in Malaga and a plethora of places to go on day trips from there. I took a day trip to the white villages of Nerja, Frigaliana, and the lost village of El Acebuchal. It was a great trip with lots of beautiful views and photo opportunities. I would highly recommend visiting the white villages while in Malaga if you have the time.
Walking around Malaga is very easy, so skip the hop on - hop off bus, unless you have physical limitations.
Definitely try the espetos de sardina, fire roasted in a boat - an excellent Malaga traditional dish that makes me wish I could get fresh sardines where I live. I truly enjoyed them at Rocamar at San Andres beach, with a Rocamar salad with tuna and a glass of Tinto de Verano.

Excellent location for tourists.
Excellent location for tourists. All places of interest walkable.
Hotel good - in city centre but quiet location. Bath too narrow for some people. Shower OK. Needed a mirror over dressing table instead of opposite the window where it was unusable. The TV could then be mounted higher on the wall. Hotel breakfast good - plenty of choice. Roof terrace bar with snacks was a bonus.

The appartement was lovely and peaceful with a super terrace...
The appartement was lovely and peaceful with a super terrace and views. There wasn't much in Torremuelle its self , but the train , a few minutes walk from the appartement , took us wherever we needed to go.There were also buses. Benalmadina was good for a visit , for the cable car and amazing mountain views, market and parque de Paloma, which is well worth a visit, especially with young children. The beaches were nice , but the sea front was very crowded and touristy, although we had a very nice meal at the restaurant, Le sirene. But watch out as they charged 8€ for a small basket of bread that was placed on the table! Fuengirola was lovely and the town had very pretty streets to explore. The sea front and beaches were lovely , good facilities, clean and quieter than Benalmádena. We tried the Sukiyaki Japanese restaurant ,which was a great , fun experience, with excellent sushi and many other dishes in an all you can eat format, with a Cat robot that brings your food . The only negative for the beaches ,was that non of the showers worked. Would like to explore more of the area. Malaga was also lovely and i would like to go back to explore the city more. Lovely parks , pretty streets and architecture, and a fantastic market. I will need another holiday to explore everything further. One thing to note is that if you are on foot , with no car , some areas are very steep. Our appartement in Torremuelle was on a steep hill , but the exercise was good for us! For people with mobility problems , it may not be ideal. On my next visit , i would probably avoid Benalmádena and explore Fuengirola and Malaga and some other areas more. Some areas and attractions are difficult to get to with out a car.
The hotel is central to the shopping and old town of Malaga, 10 minutes from railway station and 20 minutes from airport, both by taxi. The reception, bar and restaurant staff were wonderful, with a special treat waiting in our room when we got back to it at night. I think the room we had may have been an upgrade as it was on the Essence floor (5) and the room was one of the best we have stayed in. Probably exaggerating a little but the bed was as big as a football pitch.
Great location in lovely Malaga. Directly opposite beach, with restaurants and a small supermarket nearby. Well equipped modern kitchen and comfy beds. Easy to find and collect the keys. Aircon in the living room with fans in the bedrooms. About 10 mins walk to old town and the harbour with Pompidou centre. Walk up to the castle for great views of the city (though it’s quite a trek so don’t do in the heat)Old town is fabulous with loads of great restaurants.
This hotel exceeded our expectations. The room was a good size and everywhere was spotlessly clean. The breakfast options were good and the staff were friendly and helpful at all times.
The hotel is in a quieter area but only a short walk to the Centre of the old town. The bonus is the rooftop bar and seating area which has great views over Malaga and a lovely place to relax.
I would absolutely recommend this hotel and would definitely stay there again.
Our room was luxurious, clean and comfortable. The staff were amazing and extremely accommodating. Sara went over and beyond to help make our stay enjoyable. The location is great. Anahita Boutique Hotel is very central while also being only a short walk to the beach. We stayed here for three nights and we could not have asked for a better stay. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Malaga. We will be sure to return!
Location is very centric, 5 minutes walking distance to the old town center. There is a bus station on the main street next to the hotel and from there you can easily go to the airport or main bus terminal, by local bus.
Reception staff is very kind and helpful and it’s 24/7 operational.
The hotel and the room is clean and comfortable for a 1-2 nights stay. I can highly recommend it for a short stay in Malaga.
The staff were super nice and helpful, giving us a warm welcome, tips and directions around Malaga and the option to leave our luggage after checkout. The rooms were great - clean and with everything needed. The location of the hotel was also very good - within walking distance to the Historic centre and right next to train station (where you would arrive from the airport). Definitely would recommend!
The Picasso is a very small boutique hotel, which is very quiet. We took the bus into Malaga most days. Buses are regular and very cheap. There is a good beach and excellent churringuitos (beach bars) within 5 minutes walk, selling great food. I would highly recommend the hotel for people who want easy access to the historic centre of Malaga without being in the middle of all the hustle and bustle
The staff were all so friendly and helpful. The location is close to the beach and about 15-20 minute walk to the old town. Room and beds were well equipped and comfortable and the entire hotel property was quite lovely. Breakfast was extensive and delicious. We really enjoyed every minute of our stay here and can’t wait to come back again.
I invited my mother for a trip to Spain and rented a car for a few days. The parking here was a breeze, hassle free. Yes, they charge you but totally worth it for the convenience. The hotel is closer to the airport than the city. Staff was great and the room was fantastic. Great resort and beach access. Definitely going there again.
Fantastic appartment with everything we needed for a family holiday and more - a real touch of luxury! Great location with easy and cheap transport links to airport and into Malaga's historic centre plus we were walking distance to beach and a wide choice of restaurants. The host made us most welcome and we can't wait to return!
The location was excellent right in the middle of Malaga and perfect to visit the old town for sightseeing and great selection of bars and rewstaurants and the new modern Malaga for shopping.
The staff were very pleasant and so helpful. A very good selection for breakfast.
This was our third visit to Le Petite Palace Hotel.
IT WAS CLEAN. On our 4th day in Malaga we decided to change hotel from the previous. The immense difference in class this hotel has compared to some in the old town. They also stored our luggage since we were there before check in. Honestly we did not leave the room, the tv has YouTube and Netflix. Great hotel for fair price.
Close to the airport. 10 mins drive. Nice walk along paseo/ beach to Malaga old town. Chiringuitos and bars close by. Nice and friendly stuff. Good location. Secure building. Easy to find. Little things provided: some medicine, cleaning stuff, washing liquids, shampoos ect. In general comfortable and pleasant
Located in a quiet upscale area of Malaga, this hotel overlooks a beautiful park containing a pond with swans. It is close to an amazing Georgian restaurant (Odissei) and a short ride to the airport. We had hoped to take advantage of our last day walking along the beach but the rain prevented it.
Location was great. Just a short walk to the old town and a little supermarket round the corner. We were delayed by a flat tyre so only had a day to enjoy Malaga, but managed to see plenty and enjoy the food and wine! Irene arranged our taxi to the airport. Hopefully we'll be back soon.
Location was perfect for accessing the old town and a short walk to the port and beaches. Private was a lovely touch. Elizabeth was excellent and gave us many recommendations for Malaga and the next location we were traveling to. Would definitely stay here again.
Excellent location close to the old town Malaga, you could see how close you were to the Cathedral from the hotels rooftop terrace and bar. Hotel immaculately clean, staff really welcoming and helpful and room really nice. Breakfast choice was fantastic
Everything about this hotel is perfect.
The LOCATION is PERFECT.
The Jr. Suite is PERFECT.
The Staff is PERFECT.
It was my second time in Hotel Boutique Teatro Romano and this is my hotel when I am in Malaga.
Nice large comfortable room, lovely balcony with superb view. Location 20 minutes walk from old town Malaga but that did not bother us. Cheap taxi back to the hotel in the evening if you prefer not to walk.
Small hotel in a posh residential neighbourhood. Beautiful garden with nice pool, close to beach and airport. Feels like you are staying in the villa of your wealthy friends who live in Malaga.
