Didn't get to experience much except casinos due to the time of year we visited. A lot of places were closed. The town in a typical tourist town, can't really see much of the history the place holds.

My husband and I love Deadwood and have made more than 20 trips in the last 10 years. Lots to do in the area including visits to different museums, hiking, ghost tours, shopping, wine tasting, great food, and gambling. There is still a lot that we have not seen and done, which keeps us making the 10 hour drive 2 times a year.

We went after a snowfall and streets weren't cleaned.
We went after a snowfall and streets weren't cleaned. Some businesses and shops were closed and the sidewalks never got shoveled and were very slippery. Everyone that we met was friendly and fun. There was a lot to do and see, next time we'll stay longer. We'll be back as soon as we can, but in the fall rather than winter.

Lots of fun things to do and see.
Lots of fun things to do and see. Reenactments going on everyday on the main strip. The local saloons were great and filled with great atmosphere! We did not have enough time to do any tours as we were only there one night but we would come back to explore. We happened to walk into an outdoor concert that was awesome! It was very easy to get around on the local bus that travels by the hotels. We went to get some coffee in the morning at the Pumphouse which was filled with beautiful locally made glass art. It is worth a quick stop!

Staff were nice especially Broadmoor.
Staff were nice especially Broadmoor.
Hotel was not very clean.
You had to go into the CASINO for breakfast - not appropriate for children.
Everyone in the casino could see you in the swimming pool - creepy experience.
Signs up everywhere in case you stole something! Nothing worth stealing.
Lobby so small.
Hotel was a good walk outside of Deadwood.
Don't be put off by the exterior which looks a little worn down. The room we stayed in was large clean and well equiped, the air con though was a little bit noisy. We slept well and the hotel although busy was quiet and we weren't disturbed at all. It was far away enough from the centre to be quiet but a 15 to 20 minute walk saw us in the main street. Breakfast in the adjacent restaurant was excellent.
having never been to deadwood, this hotel was perfect. Close enough to the downtown area and the price was perfect. It’s connected with a few other hotels with a casino on the bottom floor. Kind of fun to walk around. The hotel itself was very nice. room was perfect. and the included breakfast was very good. The underground parking was very nice knowing the car was relatively safe.
We love old historic places - which is why we visited Deadwood! We were drawn to the Franklin Hotel and stayed in a suite to celebrate our wedding anniversary! Decent accommodations - but you have to understand the place is old and historic! We enjoyed dinner at Legend's which is located in the basement of the hotel.
The location is great ! (can't beat the view) Just about anywhere in Deadwood, is with- in walking distance! Everybody I came in contact with were very nice ! The food at the hotel sports bar/ lounge was very good ! If /when I'm back in Deadwood, I'll definitely be staying at this place !!!
1 Mile from downtown Deadwood. We decided to drive into town, but could do ~25 minute walk. Clean room. The front desk staff was not on site, but communicate well by text. We were able to get our keys and into our room without any issue.
Cheri was great! And she was very concerned and considerate of our needs and making sure we were comfortable. Enjoyed staying there! Very convenient and walkable to downtown Deadwood. Loved the huge ceiling fan!!
Good price.for Deadwood, it's right at the end of the hotels, about a mile walk to downtown, which wasn't a problem for a good choice of restaurants and bars. There was a covered carpark.
Great location very near centre of Deadwood. Best of all were the truly lovely staff who made us very welcome. Can’t emphasise just how lovely and trusting they are!
Large Room, Good Shower and Comfortable bed. Good location with only a five minute walk into the centre of Deadwood, The café downstairs does a good breakfast
