I love Rome, and it is an absolutely wonderful place to visit... but... crowded and not that cheap... always. Getting up early or evening visits to the attractions will allow you a bit more space. Use the buses, only 1.50 euros for 100 minutes, or get longer passes, but watch your valuables, as you would in any big city. If you don't buy your tickets in advance, then you will be in some very long queues. Even with fasttrack tickets, some key places like the Vatican still have long waits to get in, probably as everyone is now buying the fasttrack tickets! Buy them as soon as you book your visit, or later you will find all the slots are taken or at awkward times. Avoid the 'free days' or you will spend you holiday in long lines, which to me is a false economy, I recommend guided tours where possible, as you will enjoy what you are looking at far more with their information and stories. But do shop around for Tours and read the reviews! Check the opening and closing times carefully, especially for churches. I also recommend that you read the guidebooks, and the tips on the socials, you will eat better and enjoy the sights more. E.g. the Trevi Fountain is best enjoyed early morning or early to mid-evening. Shame on Rome though for charging 2 euros to be beside the Trevi Fountain from next year, you already charge a Tourist Tax of 5 Euros per night! Walk away from the tourist traps to find delightful bars and restaurants that are way cheaper than those immediately beside the attractions. The market stalls in the Campo di Fiori sell the same souvenirs for way less than you would pay at the main sites.

I love how vibrant the city was with so much to see and do.

I love how vibrant the city was with so much to see and do. It was our first time in Rome so we hit all of the tourist attractions in the four days we were there. The days are busy but the nights are chilled, lively and plenty to see and do without being full on or too noisey. Such a gorgeous city which is a must see place.

Rome was possibly the most interesting city I have ever been to. The combination of mind blowing historical architecture on every corner, coupled with the best food and culinary experience. What was appealing as well is as one navigates the mass of people between all the sites, there is never any trash, bad behaviour, drunk or rude behaviour. It's as through ancient civilisation meets modern civility, not seen in many cities anymore. A must do visit!

the visit to the Vatican, the Saint peter Basilica, The Sistine chapel, The Vatican museum was great. I visited other basilica and went through all four Holy doors; that was just great. Beautiful and rich churches demonstrates how much faith and love of God can make you do. Italians are great artist, I lift my hat to them.

The ease of getting around Rome on the Metro was appreciated. The friendly locals would get us pointed in the right direction which we were grateful for. There are so many options for getting around Rome which makes if a great city for seeing the sites. No shortage of cafes when you just feel like a break too. Enjoy!

Ive been to Roma before and it is amazing how much you miss each time you go. This was my first time however visiting the Coliseum, our tour guide was amazing, her name was Julieta, and we booked her through Viator and she is with "Walk". She was funny, entertaining, and filled with knowledge, I learned more than I thought I would. Was a great experience.

This was my first trip to Italy. And straight to Rome. I really wanted a place to sleep and relax that would not spoil the impression of the trip. Therefore, I chose the hotel for a long time and very carefully. I chose Amica Roma Guest House and I was right! The hotel is conveniently located, within walking distance of the Vatican and the metro. Very cozy and comfortable room. Very tasty breakfasts! And a wonderful, sincere host Robert. Staying at this hotel only enhanced my wonderful feelings from a trip to magical Rome!

The building although found in the old city of Rome, was modern and aesthetically pleasing. The room was spacious and clean and we were also offered water which we could refill from the hotel itself - who doesn’t love a sustainable act? The best part was the breakfast - so delicious and mouthwatering, I’ve never tasted such good breakfast at a hotel in Italy! The food was so genuine and fresh - pure delicacies of Rome! Finally, Erica the receptionist was so sweet and welcoming on our arrival and departure.

I like this hotel because of its convenient location. It is so close to Termini station, so if you travel across Italy, this variant will be the best. The room was small but clean, good air conditioning, it was important for us because the temperature was +37+38 in August in Rome. The staff was friendly, they explained everything that we wanted to know. I think the breakfast was good, it was an ordinary European breakfast (coffee, juice, bread, cheese, jam, croissants).

We had a wonderful weekend in Rome! It's a family hotel with very friendly and helpful hostesses - Francesca and her mother. The hotel offers stylish and comfortable rooms equipped with everything you need: a fridge, a kettle, a TV. The bed is very comfortable, and the area is quiet. I especially want to mention the delicious homemade breakfast with eggs, yogurt, ham, pastries and coffee, which is quite diverse for Italy. I highly recommend staying at this hotel👍

The room was simply gorgeous - soo spacious exceptionally clean and truly 5 stars! It was luxury and the bed the best we had across our 4 weeks in Italy! The location was good - easy to get busses everywhere or walk! The suites are super close to many beautiful restaurants and the lady that welcomed us was delightful. We would stay here again in a heart beat! Oh and the view from our room across Rome was perfect!
