Lovely place about a 10-15 minute walk from the train station. We were there on 2 cold days in March but our room was warm with a heater and electric blankets. Very comfortable beds and an onsen in the room. We had a beautiful view out our window and in nice weather it would be lovely to sit outside but not on this visit. You eat downstairs in a pleasant dining room. The 2 dinners were fabulous and well prepared but we couldn't eat much of the breakfast (it was all Japanese), other guests loved it. But on the second day the cooks made us a delicious breakfast that kept us going all day. The owner is very helpful, he cares a lot about his guests, he's still working on the place and it will be really nice when it's done.

What a lovely place to stay! it is a private home that has been converted to a home stay however the manager was not onsite during the night and you did not feel like you were living in someone's pocket. Clean, warm and comfortable. our room was a traditional Japanese one. I was a bit wary about sleeping on the floor but the futons were thick and exceptionally comfortable with plenty of blankets. There is a private hot spring bath that is available for use which is lovely to soak in. staff were really nice and the breakfast was super delicious!

SEKIYA RESORT Terrace Midoubaru is located a 15-minute drive from JR Beppu Station and boasts guestrooms with a semi open-air bath. Guests can soak in the hot spring bath. The view was breathtaking, the food was amazing and the staff was very friendly. The experience of private open air bath with view was very unique

We especially loved being able to enjoy the hot spring right where we were staying; it was such a special experience. The staff were also kind enough to help us book a local dinner that is usually hard to reserve — we truly appreciated it. We hope you continue to maintain this great service. We would love to come back and stay again in the future!

I was travelling with my Son and we really enjoyed our stay at the Villa. Very roomy with a comfortable beds. Private, clean and quiet, the view from the bedroom was lovely 🥰

It was her day off from work and having her dinner. She got up from her seat and patiently took time to help us pick food and drinks from the Japanese menu! Big space for 4 adults. Having 2 toilets is a plus! Even though we can hear some loud noises late night on the street, we still had good sleep because of the comfortable sheets and mattresses.

This time, I traveled with my family and had a hard time finding clean accommodations in a good location. So, for the first time, we decided to rent an entire house. Initially, I was a bit confused about how to access the house because the owner sent instructions via Booking.com in Japanese. After translating the message, I realized that the house could be accessed using a code. When we arrived, I was quite surprised because the house was much bigger than I had expected. It even had a spacious parking area within the property, large enough to accommodate two cars. Inside, the living room was cozy, and there was a kitchen area perfect for cooking, making it ideal for a trip with a large group of friends. This time, I came with my family of five. On the second floor, there were three bedrooms with six beds and one bathroom. For those who prefer sleeping on tatami mats, there’s a tatami area on the first floor, near the living room, which can accommodate two more people. The ground floor also featured a fairly large bathroom. At first, I was a bit confused about how to turn on the hot spring water. I accidentally turned on regular hot water instead. Later, I found out that the mineral spring water could be accessed by turning a red-colored knob, which was different from the regular taps. Overall, I really loved this house and would definitely like to stay here again on my next trip!
