Cosy & Relax Yellow House 5mn walk from the beach! has a terrace and is situated in Calheta Do Maio, within just less than 1 km of Praia de Ponta Preta and a 17-minute walk of Biche Rocha Beach. We have really enjoyed our stay at Isolinda’s apartment. From start to finish we felt like at home. Isolinda has come to pick us at the airport and dropped at off after the stay. The house is located in very quiet neighbourhood and ideal for someone who wants to disconnect and be in the nature. The kitchen is fully equipped and has everything you need for cooking. There are 2 terraces to enjoy. The local Ponta Preta beach is very nice and you will be pretty much the only people enjoying it. At the main beach in town you can buy fresh fish daily and then enjoy cooking it or making a barbecue at home. The best part is the host Isolinda who always went out of her way to answer any questions and to give us recommendations. She always answered very quickly and nothing was too much trouble. Maio is a small island and you can visit most of the main points in one day either by hiring a car or doing a tour. It feels like going back in time where the pace of life is much slower. Everything is relaxed and no stress :) People are very nice and friendly, greet you on the street and smile. Overall we would highly recommend Isolinda’s apartment and we undoutebly will be back once traveling back in Maio. Thank you again for your hospitality.

Featuring a garden and views of sea, A.M.A Appartament is a recently renovated apartment located in Calheta Do Maio, less than 1 km from Praia de Ponta Preta. The appartement was newly renovated and super-equiped; there was everything from can-oppener to washing machine ... everything was spotlessly clean. It is roomy, light, and we enjoyed the terrace at the front with seaview. Shops are within walking distance and you are between two beautifull beaches. But the best were our hosts: generous, helpful, humorous and a delight to stay with.

Featuring a garden and views of garden, Casa Djarmai Boutique Apartments is a recently renovated apartment situated in Vila do Maio, 400 metres from Biche Rocha Beach. This is a spectacular apartment. Visually just stunning. Clean, well located. The hosts were very responsive.

Offering an infinity pool and lake view, Residenz Stella Maris Apartment Strela is located in Calheta Do Maio, 1 km from Biche Rocha Beach and 1.4 km from Praia de Ponta Preta.

Offering garden views, Barracudamaio in Morro provides accommodation, an open-air bath, a garden and barbecue facilities. Christophe and Mona will welcome you like your are part of the family. After a couple of days you feel you know them for years. Pick-up at the airport, home made cocktail, and dinner (for 8 euros, very fair). Christophe loves his island and wants to share his passion! They both do their maximum to make you feel at home. Definitely have to come back to see the private bar in the backyard when it will be open 🙂

Offering a sun terrace and views of the sea, Torre Sabina is set in Calheta. Free private parking is available on site. Some rooms include a seating area to relax in after a busy day. We spent unfortunately just three wonderful days in Torre Sabina, to remember as one of the most lovely and charming experiences of our lives, and as a promise to come back soon. In Torre Sabina you can breath nature, peace, energy and history, as they have managed to create a beautiful place that fits in the perfect island of Maio, with the inspiration of a true chapel and watch tower. Not only the place can't be better, near to a paradise beach in a quiet and charming town with great people, culture and nature, but also Sabina and Elida made our stay absolutely unforgettable. We felt as if we were at home, Sabina is an inspiring and strong woman worth knowing, and we can be lucky that Elida, always smily and kind, did not accept an offer of the most prestigious restaurants and chefs in the world, because the meals she cooks are absolutely incredible! And let's not forget Emma -the so cute dog-, cats, the duck and the donkeys that keep visiting the place as Sabina gives them water in the dry summers. For now, it is just a memory that could have been a dream, but we hope to go back soon and make it real again! Maio and Torre Sabina charmed our hearts. Thank you for everything!

A recently renovated property, Casa Carlotta Maio is set in Vila do Maio near Biche Rocha Beach, Praia de Ponta Preta. This beachfront property offers access to free WiFi and free private parking. The place is very cosy and the staff is super nice. They let me check out late. The breakfast is in a bar close to the forte Sao Jose and it is served from 8.30/9am.
