Everything was perfect in our stay. You need a grab or taxi to go to the touristic part on the river, but it is cheap.

Offering garden views, Merdeka Guest House 2 is an accommodation situated in Kuching, 5.5 km from Sarawak Stadium and 10 km from Borneo Convention Centre Kuching. The host is just from another world. I arrived late (around 22h30) and even though he likes to wake up at 4h30, we kept talking for about half an hour. Then, he goes: "do you want me to show you around?" >> he went on giving me a guided kuching tour in his car. He even wanted to buy me a drink but no shops were open at midnight. Besides this, he would leave traditional sweets for breakfast every day. Legend!!

Mr Lee is super nice and help us with luggage. He waited for us to arrive to show us the place. The garden is well taken care , my family and I enjoyed the place a lot with the magnificent view of mt kinabalu. The room come with heated floor- this is a very thoughtful design of the room/chalet.

Our room was MASSIVE and featured direct access to the dolphin plunge pool, which was almost as refreshing as the pitcher of lemonade which magically appeared. The highlight though was dinner and breakfast. The food is thoughtfully prepared and locally sourced, and the staff goes above and beyond to provide an enjoyable dining experience. The combination of comfortable accommodation, superb hospitality, and delicious food make it a 10/10.

Situated in Kundasang in the Sabah region, Kundasang Trail Homestay features accommodation with free WiFi and free private parking. The property features city views. Clean, modern, comfortable apartment with great views. Very helpful manager who took us around the various tourist sites for a reasonable cost.

Set in Sandakan in the Sabah region, VIRTA Guesthouse has a balcony. This property offers access to a terrace and free private parking. VIRTA Guesthouse is great if you prefer the comfort of having your own place while visiting Sandakan. We enjoyed all the space we had and the cozy/functional outside area where we were able to cook some meals. Places like the Orangutan Sanctuary and Rainforest Discovery Center are about a 20 minute drive from the house. It is pretty easy & affordable to use Grab (Malaysia's Uber) to get back and forth, though having a car would be more comfortable. The host is also very responsive and friendly.
