Adara homestay was FANTASTIC. The room and bathroom was beautiful and gave off Javan and Bali esque vibes. When you walk in there is a gorgeous scent by some incense. The room and bathroom were spotless / very clean and very comfortable. Hot shower and very comfortable bed with soft sheets. Loved the decor of the bedroom and bathroom. The bedroom also had air con if you wanted to use it. There is also a cute living/lounge area and a small kitchen which was great and you could help yourself to java coffee and tea! Adara home stay made you feel like you were home. We stayed for 4 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Very comfortable place. After a day out exploring we looked forward to coming back and chilling out at the property. After the second day our room was cleaned and our clothes were folded with great care! It was so nice! We enjoyed our stay so much we would definitely come back and stay again. The breakfast served by Kanung (very friendly and helpful staff member) was delicious- eggs / Toast / plenty of fresh fruit! We looked forward to breakfast each morning. Tommy the host is extremely helpful and welcoming. The best host! He helped us with our train tickets, picked us up from Banyuwangi station, took us to have food, arranged our Mount Ijen trip - arranging a driver and a guide for us. Adara Homestay has an authentic, welcoming, comfortable and relaxing atmosphere , especially as it has been beautifully designed and built by Tommy the host. Highly recommend staying here :) even if it’s to see Mount Ijen (which is incredible) or to stay a few nights before heading over to Bali. We give Adara Homestay 10/10!

Hadi and the team were fantastic hosts - very welcoming and friendly. He even went out at 11 pm by jeep to saw up a tree that had fallen across the track in the National Park so that we would be able to get to Sukamade and do the turtle release early in the morning as planned. He told us lots about the local area. We also loved seeing coconut sap being processed and finding dragonfruit flowers at night. Java Turtle Lodge itself was well organised, clean and the food was delicious.

Everything about this stay was amazing. The hosts, Fryda and Imran, go out of their way to ensure your stay is as good as can be. When we arrived we were not feeling well (Bali belly) and Fryda raced to their local shop to buy us some fresh coconut water. On the second day, they both took the morning to drive us to a coffee plantation and a local batik painting shop and workshop. Further, Fryda helped us book our train tickets. The breakfasts were excellent and facilities and rooms were simple but clean. This is a homestay and Fryda and Imran welcome you in with open arms. Highly recommend staying here if you are after a budget friendly homestay. Thanks Fryda and Imran, hope to see you again someday.

Absolutely everything about Didu’s homestay is amazing. Maya and Djoko are incredible hosts who have created the most wonderful space. This secluded little gem is a delightful place to relax and unwind. The breakfast is delicious and the restaurant which provided lunches and dinner is great! The call to prayer can be heard from the guest house, but we did not find this invasive and it had no impact on our sleep. We highly recommend the Ijen tour with tour guide Ali! He is an absolute gem who takes very good care of you.

I stayed for 8 days and was so well looked after. Don’t miss the turtles but so many other things to see and do. If you want nightlife not for you but if want to connect with nature this is the place. Haddi is doing an amazing job from a fisherman to someone building ecotourism and looking after his home village can’t rate it enough. Food every day is amazing and he rents a scooter as well you can see and do so much. Can’t wait to go back.
