Everything was beyond perfect. The Matsuko family are the most amazing hosts and provided an experience that will long live in our memories. The fact that it had snowed the night before added to the magic of this place. Takuya-san the father was a very jovial man with an incredible philosophy on life which he shared on our personal and entertaining tour of the village in his van. He then prepared the most amazing food we had on our Japan trip. I encourage anyone thinking of travelling to Shirakawa-go to stay here and support this incredible family.

The room was clean and comfortable. It was our first night at a traditional Japanese style room and it was a very nice first experience. The host were extremely friendly and accommodating. I've never done the Ryokan experience before, and it was great to enjoy the onsen and wear a yukata to a dinner (which had more than 20 different things to eat!). The location was perfect, not even 50 meters from the bus station and with a gorgeous view of the river.
