Location was brilliant, amazing views of the Auckland harbour/skyline, but away from the noise/traffic of the city. We travelled between Auckland city and north shore, so Andy’s house was perfect in the middle. The house was lovely and comfortable, there was a seperate lounge shared between us and one other room, which was nice to have a bit of privacy. Massive outside deck with table/benches to work in the day/relax in the evening. Breakfast was provided, along with all the tea and coffee you could want. Finally, the host family were amazing. Andy, his young son Alan (the little property manager), plus the whole family, were just wonderful. Nothing was too much trouble. They were happy to offer suggestions/help, or leave you alone, as you prefer. All in I would definitely stay again.

Beautiful room and common areas. Impeccably clean, gardens gorgeous and very well kept. Breakfast was exceptional...delicious, perfectly sized and gorgeous presentation. Cruise shops could learn much from Qi. Small area of all day available food is a HUGH plus...can nake yourself a sandwuch, fruit, coffee/tea, cookies. When you dont know your way around or want to stay in to enjoy the gardens and birds , Qis thoughtfulness in providing staples for the day is so appreciated. Qi, her husband and mother are amazing hosts. This was a quick stop prior to boarding a cruise ship.But we look forward to coming back one day just to stay at echo lodge.

Susan thought of everything you can think of! Everything was in the room: food for breakfast, books, travel gadgets, bathroom utilities, and so many other things. The view to the garden was amazing and the whole suite had a really relaxing vibe. I definitely want to mention that I've never stayed in a cleaner suite/apartment than this one. Susan was also very supporting and helpful!

Everything. It was exactly like in the pictures. It was in a nice and quiet area but still within walking distance to restaurants, bus stops and Mount Eden. It was great to start the day with a nice breakfast with fresh fruit, yogurt, juice, toast and just the perfect cappuccino and not having to go out for it. Tipps were to go and how to get there. Heather and Roy really make you feel welcome. It’s home away from home and for us it was the perfect start for traveling New Zealand.
