This is an amazing hostel! Super clean and the kitchen was very well kept. It's a little down the road from the main town but honestly, if you can snag a spot here, I would. Just make sure to do it in advance because the spots fill up fast. I had a private room and it was very spacious with a nice balcony. I only stayed one night because I had to head back to the capital but I wish I stayed longer to see the other towns in the rutas de floras. The hostel also has a motobike shop associated with it but unfortunately, when I was there, the lady that managed them was out of town.

Like other reviews for Mixtepek the rooms are clean and what you would expect for a hostel. What makes this hostal standout is the hands on approach of the owners Ovi and Daysi. They will help you with any tours, rentals or travel plans. Alonso is always around to assist with any questions you may have if Ovi is not there. In our case, we were injured in an accident and Ovi and Daysi came and picked us up when we were released from the hospital. Not only that, there were no other taxis available, so he drove us to our next destination in Nahuizalco. They are truly amazing people, we are so grateful for their kindness and generosity..

The place is incredibly clean, has the cutest shared garden and a wonderful shared kitchen. The host is always there for any needs which we had. Great recommendations for guides to the 7 water falls and to restaurants. Also the parking was very secure. Inside the room there was hot water showers and great stations and Netflix for the TV. Also good WIFI.

Pretty, clean, spacious apartment. We didn't cook but appreciated the kitchenette; it's nice to have tea/ coffee or keep your drinks cool. We didn't meet the host but the communication was great and when the payment system rejected my credit card, the host quickly offered alternatives. Great stay overall!

Excellent communication from Carlos throughout our stay. He provided many helpful recommendations of places to go in the area. He was always available to contact through WhatsApp and was very friendly. The room was comfortable with a private bathroom and Netflix on the tv.

Staff was helpful, kind and attentive. Beautiful garden and courtyard. Although this was the first town where we found overall folks to be unwelcoming, this hostel was a little ray of sunshine and welcoming.

Fabulous. Like staying at someone’s home. We found out the property was previously the family’s holiday house. The gardens, the view, the pool, the rooms, everything was beautiful and so welcoming. Great breakfast. Staff were helpful in booking tours and transport, they even packed a last minute lunch for our children. We also loved walking down into the lovely town for meals and coffee. I would stay again and recommend to others.
