Also, the apartment was clean, in a good location, and extremely well-equipped — everything that is needed, was there, literally. Kitchenware above all expectations!

This was very special, a room in the iconic Town Hall, especially for those keen to stay in an Aalto-designed building. The room and facilities are basic, but just fine, and I wished I'd stayed another night. Harri, who runs the place, and gives tours, could not have been more helpful, about Aalto, or the island location. Bus connections are good, with access to Muuratsalo and Aalto's Experimental House. At Saynatsalo, don't miss the excellent bakery on the ground floor, and there's a small pub with excellent home brewed beer by a marina. Enjoy the landscape, and the quiet of the lake. Finland at its finest.
