An exceptional ryokan, very helpful staff, upon arrival we received a yukata (traditional Japanese clothing) and they even allowed us to go out with the yukata for a walk in the city. Very good breakfast (Japanese or European style to choose from) The staff went out of their way to accommodate the vegetarian/gluten free meal. Onsen is very spacious, and you can also order a hot pool for private use.

46 km from Hida Minzoku Mura Folk Village, WAY SHIRAKAWAGO - Private, Free Parking and Newly Opened 2022 WAY SHIRAKAWAGO is a recently renovated property set in Shirakawa and offers air-conditioned... Initially I rented a car from Nagoya to Shirakawago but I hv to cancelled my plan as partially of the road was closed due to the snow. I called the owner and thank God that he speak English fluently and guided me on how to take a speed train from Nagoya to Takayama. When I reach Takayama, he waited for me and my family and bring us to purchase the final bus ride to Shirakawago. When we reach Shirakawago, his staff is there to drive us to the house. This is helpful as we can’t walk as the road is full with thick snow. The owner even gets us some rice and food since it is late when we reach Shirakawago. Me and my family are really thankful to the help and hospitality of the owner, Mr Naoki. Shirakawago is a very nice place and I strongly recommend you to visit the place and stay in Way Shirakawago. Thank you Mr Naoki for doing extra to help me and my family during our visit to Shirakawago 👍🙏

Guesthouse SHIGI is located in Nakatsugawa, 46 km from Gero Station, 24 km from Ōi, as well as 24 km from Enakyo Wonderland. Great place to stay! Very beautifull, traditional house with a cosy kitchen. The rooms are really nice. Very close to the trainstation. Good place to stay if you are planning to do the Nakasendo hike. The host is super nice and very helpfull.

Offering a shared lounge and quiet street view, Toraya is set in Gero, 48 km from Takayama Station and 49 km from Hida Minzoku Mura Folk Village. The staff was incredibly helpful. The space is comfortable and clean. The private onsen onsite was great. It is also very conveniently located. Highly recommend!

Our hostess was very welcoming. The food was beautifully presented and delicious. The guesthouse was clean and comfortable. Everything was excellent.

Offering mountain views, Guesthouse Nedoko is an accommodation situated in Nakatsugawa, 21 km from Ōi and 21 km from Enakyo Wonderland. Clean and charming guesthouse with a great location within the town. Dinner at Haginoya was amazing - highly recommended.

Offering a garden and inner courtyard view, Guesthouse Gifu SUAI is situated in Gifu, 29 km from Nagoya Castle and 30 km from Nagoya Station. Hosts are friendly, warm, accomodating and attentive. Very clean and homely. Lively pets around, which was a welcomed change :) A 30 min walk from Gifu JR, hosts happily dropped us to the station at checkout. I believe you can organise pick up and drop off with the host. Regardless, a 30 min walk on flat ground is completely possible and should not deter anyone. However there is a local line which is 13 min walk from the house.

Built in 2018, Itomori is located a 7-minute walk form JR Takayama Station. The old town of Takayama is 6 minutes on foot, while Takayama Jinya is a 10-minute stroll. We're having an amazing time at this place! The host is incredibly friendly and welcoming, always quick to answer our questions. The house is fully equipped with everything we need, making it both convenient to cook meals and close to some of our favorite destinations.
