Situated 1.5 km from Takayama Station, Iroriyado Hidaya is a recently renovated 4-star accommodation in Takayama, boasting a garden, a shared lounge and private parking. The location is about a 20 min walk to the central area and about a 30 min walk to the Hida Folk Village so the location isn’t too bad if you’re planning to see both. The staff is beyond excellent, extremely polite, friendly and welcoming. We had the Japanese breakfast which was really delicious. I loved how big our room was, it was all well worth the stay.

Guesthouse SHIGI is located in Nakatsugawa, 46 km from Gero Station, 24 km from Ōi, as well as 24 km from Enakyo Wonderland. This place is AMAZING. I didnt know, but it is a traditional Japanese country house, more than 100 years old, tatami floors, futon bed, little gardin looking to the mountains. It was one of my best stays in my Japan trip so far. Also, Ashi (the host) is super nice, he even drived me to Magome the next day free of charge. Thank you, Ashi. I recommend very much.

The dream come true in a ryokan (and affordable). I truly love the private onsen. It was bliss. The room, the yukatas, the ambience, the fact that look like is brand new construction but in a traditional aesthetic. A dream.

Offering mountain views, Guesthouse Nedoko is an accommodation situated in Nakatsugawa, 21 km from Ōi and 21 km from Enakyo Wonderland. I stayed in the futon room with mountain views. Waking up early and watching the sun rise over Mount Ena was definitely a highlight of my trip.

Very friendly and helpful hosts. Super cheap bike rental. Great breakfast deal with the cafe. We liked walking around that area, really friendly locals. We had a really great stay! Fyi if you want to watch the fishing with the birds, you can cycle to it quite easily. When facing up river, if you go to the right hand side and walk down the pebble beach to the shore, you get an amazing view!!
