Set in Wilpattu, The Backwaters Lodge offers accommodation with seating area. Featuring a 24-hour front desk, this property also provides guests with a picnic area. Greeted by super friendly staff. Rooms are great. Our tree house was right next to a monkey family’s tree house ;-) we walked around the lodge, had amazing three course dinner, went on a late night river boat safari, and a half day morning safari. Spotted crocs, elephants, saw fresh leopard footprints (couldn’t spot the cat, however she was definitely there), so many different birds, monkeys. Had breakfast from the provided basket and lunch when we arrived back at the lodge. The location is great, on the river, close to the Wilpattu entrance. We stayed one night but can recommend staying two.

Set just 38 km from Kumbichchan Kulama Tank, Wilpattu Mookalan Resort provides accommodation in Habawewa with access to free bikes, a garden, as well as room service. Fantastic! We were a close family group of 7 persons in 3 rooms. You will not be disappointed. It is only 100 metres from NP entrance & lake edge. Magical entry is unique thru bush path that opens onto safari style forest huts in keeping with the secluded setting. The rooms were exceptionally clean, beds comfy with mosquito nets. Ensuite was spotless. The best part was our host Neehal! His limited English was more than made up for by his entusiasm & attention to detail. Were ate all meals on site and were exceptional provided by Sanjay.. Highly reccomended !!! Ask Neehal about our safari guide Bhashi from Visit Wilpattu - our no 1 experience in whole of Sri Lanka.

Wilpattu homestay by Ceylon group is a recently renovated homestay in Wilpattu, where guests can make the most of its open-air bath and free bikes. Reason for above answers - lighting no bedside light. Had to get out of bed to turn light off. Breakfasts and dinners very good.

Located in Wilpattu and with Kumbichchan Kulama Tank reachable within 34 km, Glamping Wilpattu by Thamaravila provides express check-in and check-out, allergy-free rooms, pool with a view, free WiFi... Priya and his team couldn’t do enough for us and was so attentive with utmost understanding and kindness to our 22month old daughter. The food was fine dining at its best and kept making the chicken soup my daughter couldn’t get enough of. Priya’s knowledge of the wildlife in the park was great and again focusing on wildlife our daughter could see.

Get up close with wildlife and nature at Leopard Trails Wilpattu, a campsite with tents offering a private bathroom. Leopard Trails was one of the highlight stays of our Sri Lankan vacation. Its glamping with a capital G, and very good value for money. Just a few km from the Wilpattu park entrance, we went on 2 safaris and of course saw Leopard, Sloth bear, elephant and a bunch of other species. But TBH it was the stay in this luxury camp, with its spacious safari style tent rooms, its wonderful staff and food that was amongst the best we had in Sri Lanka. I 100% recommend staying here.

Located on the border of Wilpattu National Park, Big Game - Wilpattu by Eco Team offers spacious tents with an attached partitioned bathroom. The entire experience was just amazing! Food was delicious and the dinner under the stars just magical. I believe we got upgraded to a bigger and more fancy tent than we actually booked and it was spacious, clean and comfortable. The evening walk was awesome we got to see all kinds of creatures and learned a lot. Wilpattu park is beautiful but unfortunately we weren’t lucky enough to see the big animals so in case you really want to be sure, book more than one safari.

Located within 35 km of Kumbichchan Kulama Tank and 36 km of Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi, mango villa wilpattu provides rooms with air conditioning and a private bathroom in Nekattegama. Really good location close to the national Park. We were originally supposed to stay in Green Sapphire but they let us down a few hours before we were due to arrive (seems they’ve done it a lot looking at the Google reviews), but the Mango Villa team had everything sorted even though we booked just a few hours earlier that day they were still able to organise 2 full day safaris for the following 2 days where we saw all sorts of great wildlife. Staff are all really friendly, especially the man who brings the food across in the evenings (unfortunately I don’t know his name). The food is good especially considering the remote location and nice packed lunches for the safari each day. Definitely the place to stay if you’re planning a Wilpattu safari!

Featuring air-conditioned accommodation with a balcony, Life of Leisure Wilpattu is set in Pahala Maragahawewa. This property offers access to a terrace and free private parking. It's a fantastically designed property for the location and the safari was made more enjoyable by the fact that we were staying at this property. The staff member who showed us the property also provided us with meals - he was fantastic. The host communication was also good and made me feel at ease that we would enjoy the safari booked via the host.

Located in Pahala Maragahawewa, within 31 km of Kumbichchan Kulama Tank and 32 km of Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi, Wilpattu Lakwin Guest provides accommodation with a garden as well as free private parking for... The staff was very friendly and helped set up a safari. Make sure to ask about safari price including or excluding the national park fees. The dinner add on was very delicious!
