A really great place to recuperate after a long flight and break up journey from christchurch to Dunedin. Loved the stained glass windows. Exceptionally comfortable bed. This was a great place in Lake Tekapo. The community was quiet, the kitchen was fully equipped, the bathroom nice and had a wonderful hot shower with high pressure, and the beds were SO comfy and had a much-needed heated pad. We had a car so it was a 4-minute drive to Four Square grocery (where you can walk to the Tekapo waterfront), but we also walked, and it took about 20-25 minutes, so depending on what you'd prefer, it's still reasonably close for those without a car. One thing to note, but not necessarily a bad thing, they do have a washer, but only a drying rack. This didn't bother me, but just wanted to let others know. Overall the stay was very cozy and I would absolutely come back here.

An older cottage, but with modern facilities (fantastic bathroom, newer washer/dryer machines, comfy beds --enough for at least 4 people, probably more--, cozy living room with wood stove). Close enough to the 1 restaurant and 1 cafe/shop in Arthur's pass (1-minute drive), but away from the road so there's no traffic or other people. Great hosts with great communication.
