The people are so friendly, always happy to talk with you and help where needed. All the bus drivers were so helpful. Restaurants we visited served good food, friendly staff. Spent our time at World Curling event, met wonderful locals and nice visitors "from away"

Sydney will never be what it was back in the 50 and 60s., with the
Steel Plant, fishing and the closing of the coal mines in the area but
if you have lived here in the past you can still enjoy the scenery.

Dominion beach was the best beach out of the few i went to it was very long to accommodate many people, it had plenty of sand for the little ones, it was quite cold but not much worse than many other bodies of water.
Fortress of louisburg was pretty interesting just be sure to pack your own snacks and drinks as their food and drinks are extremely overpriced, it is chilly to start (on a 21C day) but gets quite warm once walking around and if you can avoid bringing a stroller it will be much easier to get around.
Two rivers wildlife park was a good spot to check out the animals, good luck seeing the moose but worth the trip, the canteen is reasonably priced with a good variety of fried foods to choose from which were very delicious.
Many of the tourist spots are pretty far away so we did not get to tour many places such as fundy bay to see the tides or the cabot trail or lunenberg because it is a lot of driving and we drove to cape breton from southern ontario.
Make sure to keep your plastic bottles because you pay deposits at the grocery stores!
It is a little bit more of an expensive place to travel to but the ocean views, sunsets and the amazing friendliness of the locals makes it worth it all in the end.

Cape Breton is a lovely place but a huge price-gouging tourist trap. Lots of places haven't recovered from COVID so many places were either closed or short-staffed. The weather is getting crazy too.
Booking.com was the biggest pain in the ass. In a number of situations, they were confusing, unhelpful, and useless. Far better to call the motel directly and avoid this European-owned and operated app.

Excellent place to visit, so much to do.
Excellent place to visit, so much to do. We ended up staying at North Sidney at the "Hotel North" Excellent location, very clean rooms, right at the Newfoundland Ferry launch. Excellent restaurant and close to plenty of amenities.
Sorry but we didn't make it for a breakfast, it was during Christmas and the hours of operation varied with out sleeping
habits and visitations to relatives. Hoping to get back there again in the summer but when you are over the 80 mark you
never know what can occur during the next several months. Nice quiet atmosphere .Food at our one only visit to the
dining area was excellent. We are not the best stair climbers and taxi drivers are not the most hopeful, we were moved
from the upper floor to the lower floor, nice gester.
It is centrally located and easy to find. Our room was very clean and quiet but not overly spacious The bed was very comfortable . The front desk staff were friendly and helpful. An adequate hot breakfast was available at a reduced price for hotel guests but this was not mentioned when we checked in although there was a small sign which I noticed by chance.
We have stayed here several times and are always satisfied with our visit.
Very friendly, funny, and welcoming staff - the front desk employees and cleaning personnel were all very personable.
This is the first hotel I've stayed in where I didn't have to call for more towels - plenty are provided. Lots of shampoo/body wash vs the little one-time use bottles you find at most other properties.
The pillows are heaven!
The self-serve coffee/tea/ hot chocolate bar in lobby was so nice
Although the building has an older looking exterior the interior has undergone a great remodel. Staff at the front desk were friendly and helpful. Our large room was very comfortable. We found many of the Sydney attractions including boardwalk, heritage homes and park were a short drive away.
We would definitely stay here again. It was good value.
High-quality hotel sitting right on the bay with access with a great walkway along the bay all the way to a cultural center with restaurants and shops. The restaurant at the hotel was amazing with a great selection. On the expensive side but would gladly stay there again. Highly recommended.
I had a pleasant stay at the hotel with my 7-month-old baby. Since I came from a vacation, I had a few luggages from the airport, and the staff kindly assisted in bringing them to my room. Additionally, the complimentary breakfast was enjoyable.
Loved the eclectic decor and the history of the hotel. Very grateful to Carmen for accomodating me on short notice after ferry crossing was cancelled. Room was perfect and great value for price. Very clean and interesting hotel.
The room was very comfortable and clean. It had mini-kitchen, which we didn’t expect. Good breakfast including oat meal, which is my daughter’s morning meal and not every hotel can suggest.
A good, reliable hotel with reasonably priced rooms.. Clean, bright room. The front desk were friendly and helpful. The “breakfast to go” is convenient and certainly sufficient to needs.
Good standard breakfast options, hotel has a pool and a hot tub. It also has two pool tables (4 quarters to play a game, which is decent), I think only one of them was working.
Old style hotel, with bath shared with one other room. Ideal for two couples traveling together. Selected it to catch the noon ferry. Best value encountered on this trip.
