With a picturesque setting on the banks of the River Dee, this charming Scottish mansion dates back to 1225 AD, and was once home to the Knights Templar.

Wide choice of traditional and continental dishes for breakfast; evening menu relatively limited but the quality of the food is exceptional. Service is polite and efficient and nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are very clean and comfortable.

I booked last minute on the day, for one night after a change of plans. We spent another night nearby, and if I'd known how nice Maryculter was, I would definitely have stayed both nights.
Fantastic hotel, really friendly staff, great location.

Some of the hotel was very smart and as per the photos on booking.com. Our room was very small in comparison to the photos on the website, and the decor was not of the same standard. I definitely wouldn't call it "delux". However it was pleasant and good value for the £80 we paid (incl breakfast). I'm not sure what the suites on the photos are specified as if our room was delux.
The bedroom was comfortable and had everything we needed. The bathroom was exceptional; the underfloor heating very cosy and the whole room was spotlessly clean. We were really happy with the facilities. The staff were really helpful and friendly with all our questions, and at breakfast each morning we were served promptly and with friendliness. We also had a beautiful view of the river Dee from our window which we loved. We can’t fault the comfort and service at this hotel and feel it was well worth the money.
W ate there for evening meal and for breakfast, both were excellent. The waiting staff could not be faulted always looking for something someone may need. he room was spacious, clean, quirky and comfortable, the old window was able to open as it was a warm night. We booked last minute ...30 minutes notice and got the last room as we decided not to stay at the already booked hotel due to the noise and we had not even unpacked.
We loved everything about the Mary Culter House. Our room very nice, comfortable bed, big roomy shower, mini fridge, coffee press. The young lady at the desk was so nice and helpful. The restaurant easily had the best food we’ve experienced on our trip to Scotland and I highly recommend the whiskey flight for dessert, it was all superb. I wish we would have booked several more days at that location.
The best hotel! Beautiful location, lovley staff, clean and a good sized room.Loved the food as well.Ot is right beside the river, which you can walk along. Also added bonus of the history of the place. We wished we were staying longer! Thank you to all the lovely bar staff who made our night enjoyable.
This is a very personal and extremely well run hotel. The staff are all focused on delivering the best service possible. The dinner was excellent. The great hall with it's history and open fire are a wonderful way to relax. Quiet location on the river bank however very close to the road network.
Only stayed one night for business but it was fantastic. The room was well presented, felt luxurious. seemed newer and fresher than a lot of the hotel Ive stayed at lately, I wish I could have stayed longer.
Beautiful location and our room overlooked the river Dee. The hotel is steeped in history and the public rooms are incredible. The staff were very attentive and the overall experience was first class.
First time.ive stayed there and will certainly be back. Tranquil setting with a property that is steeped in history. Just wish I had more time to explore the hotel and grounds. Well worth a visit
beautiful hotel! beautiful setting. absolutely fantastic staff behind the bar in the evening who we had a fantastic night with along with some American tourists. very clean comfortable room.
My husband and I only stayed for 1 night, but I wished we had stayed longer! This hotel felt luxurious yet remained cozy. We really enjoyed the bar and the surrounding town!
Comfortable beds and good room. Hotel is well situated. Staff are helpful and positive. Plenty of parking space. Good outlook from the public rooms and our room.
