It was clean and basic. They were clear about being a budget hotel. I knew it would be small, and it was tight but well laid out with the sink and shower outside the toilet. There was a good cold breakfast buffet for an extra fee of £8.50 that included cold ham, cheese, hummus, and cucumber as well as cereals, fruit, yoghurt, toast, juice, coffee and excellent croissants. It is very close to the airport and has a tram across the road that gets you into downtown in 20 minutes.

A 5-minute walk from Waverley Train Station, ibis Edinburgh Centre South Bridge – Royal Mile provides centrally located accommodation in the Old Town.

Room was nice and big. I had breakfast included and it consisted of an unlimited choice from continental menu plus one choice from the warm menu. I've been satisfied with the food every time. The hotel is located very close to the Haymarket tram station which provides easy and cheap access to/from the Airport. It is also within walking distance of the EICC where I was attending a conference.

Overlooking Carlton Hill, Princes Street Gardens and Waverley Station, the 4-star Scotsman Hotel was originally built in 1905. This majestic, listed building was once The Scotsman newspaper.

Every staff interaction was friendly and professional which started with David at Reception for check-in. All questions were helpfully answered with excellent recommendations. The rooms were comfortable and a higher standard of luxury than expected. The rooms and hotel were clean and comfortable. The spa facilities were clean, easy and delightful and the bar was lovely. After check-out, we were able to leave our luggage at the hotel with no hassles. As an added bonus, the location was just perfect with easy access to the city and local transport. As a disabled guest, this meant so much. In fact, a few of our party have mobility issues and the hotel was accessible and easy for all of us.
