Friendly but under- experienced staff. Lack of experience showed on check-in, which took 25 minutes. Room cleaning was competent but not as it should be - one day we had only one bath towel and another we had no shower mat.
Breakfast was good with a wide range if choice but again the service was friendly but hit and miss: I ordered scrambled eggs and bacon but the bacon arrived burnt.
On one evening we ate in the restaurant because it advertised rabbit as a main course. The rabbit was not available. We ordered other dishes including one that claimed to be monkfish but turned out to be smoked shark. We would not have ordered that. The staff were very kind and helpful and we were given a delicious dessert of the chef’s choice by way of compensation- which it certainly was. However, I would be a bit circumspect about eating here again.

Location in Lecce is perfect and hotel and surroundings very well looked after.Staff at this hotel were exceptional and happily assissted us with a small problem we had.
Room was large and very clean and bed comfortable. Breakfast well catered for and staff at breakfast very attentive. Although rather expensive, probably the best hotel we stayed in while in Puglia.

Lecce dazzles every visitor offering one of Italy’s best preserved walled historic centres. Its wonders include tasteful traditional cuisine, rich wines, and charming shops. Located near the crystalline waters of both the Adriatic and Ionian beaches, it is a perfect base to explore the Salentine Peninsula.
Its origins are unclear, but it is believed that dates back to the 12th or 11th century BC, when Italic tribes founded a settlement nearby, which Romans later occupied and relocated to its current position. The pages of its history are filled by Byzantine rulers, several invasions, a Norman rebirth, and an annexation to the Kingdom of Sicily.
Its distinctive Baroque style is combined with well-preserved Roman remnants. Don’t miss the historic centre during sunset, when the light creates a perfect contrast between the blue sky and the mild-yellow colour of the limestone buildings. St Oronzo Square houses the Roman Amphitheatre, while the outstanding Holy Cross Basilica is a must. Don’t miss the magic of staying in a hotel or B&B in Lecce’s Old Town.
The city is serviced by the local railway station, while Brindisi Airport is 45 km away. Whether you’re searching for rural accommodation in the surroundings of Lecce, a resort on the nearby beaches, or a cosy guest house in the centre, check out the deals available on Booking.com.

Lecce is a lovely city to wander around and explore at leisure. It has an incredible collection of baroque churches and for €12 you can visit the most spectacular ones, especially the Basilica of Santa Croce which has an incredible facade. And you won’t go hungry as there are countless bars and restaurants.

We wholeheartedly recommend to take a guided tour to properly experience the historic city. Also, it is worth trying less touristy restaurants such as Mariolino Pizza for an authentic Leccesian cuisine, and ask for the homemade Amaro with the desert.

We stayed three nights, but I wish we'd stayed in Lecce longer. It's a gorgeous walkable city, very wheelchair friendly, unlike many towns in Europe and has amazing baroque architecture. I recommend the Museo Faggiano (although not wheelchair accessible) for those interested in history and Roman Empire artefacts.

Lecce’s old city center has a unique southern Italian charm. The churches and museums are easy to find on a self guided walking tour. Beware, the streets are narrow and vehicles weave around and through the pedestrians. The Museo Archeologico Faggiano is a recent Lecce underground discovery not to be missed, a highlight of our visit. A walk through the free castle entry reveals an excavated ancient sight. On the other side of the walk through is a flea market of vendors offering discounted clothing, linens, jewelry and plants. On our walk we also found a paper mache art studio with glass wall and you can observe the artist applying paste and paper to a statue in progress. The gelato at the Porta Rudiae is divine. The city is beautifully lighted for a night stroll.

A Walk arond place, must go to place for history and architecture, around every corner ther is something new to see.
Food especially the street food is brilliant. My favoutite place to visit the archelogical museum small but very interesting.
Strategically located in the centre of the old city, close to all the monuments of interest. Very rich breakfast, wide choice and top quality. Luxury rooms with all the amenities and amazing views of the Basilica di Santa Croce. All the staff were very helpful. A special mention and thank you to Angelica at the reception who gave us excellent tips for restaurants and beaches to visit and prepared an awesome surprise for my birthday. She made our stay in Lecce memorable, thank you once more dear Angelica!
Warm welcome by owners. Accommodation is very well furnished and I like the eclectic style. My wife liked the bathrobes- the only place to include these so 5 stars!. Also, best breakfast out of 6 masserias/hotels we stayed in on a tour of Puglia: home-made cakes and food choice was superb-plus I like the communal dining table as well as the choice of dining on individual tables. Hotel is well located on the edge of the Old Town so easy to walk in and to see all that Cecce has to offer.
Great, fully renovated boutique b'n'b, just minutes from the Old Town Lecce. Everything is refurbished with attention to detail, from terazzo floors in the entry hall to handrails and doorknobs. We stayed in a spacious and comfortable room with modern bathroom. The host Franceco was discreet and helpful. The b'n'b also has a nice and stylish communal area. Free on-street parking. If you plan to explore the baroque masterpiece that Lecce is, this accommodation is a perfect base.
The breakfast each morning was wonderful. Fresh fruit , cheeses and pastries with coffee tea water and juices served outside on the rooftop terrace with panoramic views was a wonderful way to start or days on Lecce. We really liked this small boutique hotel and highly recommend it if you are planning a visit. The location was perfect for visiting restaurants and historic buildings.

Beautiful boutique hotel. Perfectly clean and stylish. Lovely rooftop pool, great for lounging and relaxing. Breakfast was fresh and extensive - also on the rooftop which makes for a lovely start to the day.
Staff were informative and friendly, offering advice about Lecce and surrounding areas. Useful access to a garage, that the staff manage for you, if you’re driving.
Everything was spot on. Rooms and facilities were amazing, elaborate breakfast. 10/10 hospitality, absolutely lovely people. I would definitely recommend Palazzo Console if you are planning to visit Lecce. Located on perfect spot, around 8-10mins pleasant walk to Basilica di Santa Croce.
Palazzo Console is my new hands down favourite accommodation in Italy.
Exception attention to detail, the room was outstanding packed with tasteful design and useful features for travelers.
The staff provided a 5 star service throughout our stay, top tier concierge service, I would highly recommend this hotel for anyone planning a luxury stay in Lecce, it really is a special place.
We had a great stay in Lecce at this terrific guest house. Such a great location, with a room overbooking the square and the life happening there. A big plus was having early checkin at 12 noon! A comfortable and spacious room with a large shower - a rarity in Italy 🇮🇹. Highly recommended.
Quaint, artistic and beautifully decorated. Personal touches and care for all guests by the lovely ladies on reception -especially Beatrice and Francesca. Cars can be parked outside the door of the hotel - at no charge. A very short walk from the historic centre of Lecce.
Nice large clean room with a safe, fridge and Giovanni was an excellent host. The bathroom was large and shower had great water pressure. The room had 2 large windows. The location was perfect for getting around Old Town Lecce.
The staff were very accommodating. It was very nice having our car in the private courtyard. The gardens were peaceful and very beautiful. The location was easy walking distance to the beautiful old town of Lecce.
Highly recommended. We had a wonderful stay at Pollicastro Boutique Hotel in Lecce. Everything was perfect! The staff was really friendly and the breakfast amazing. Comfy beds in a really clean and beautiful room.
The breakfast room was beautiful and cosy. The hotel is within walking distance of central Lecce. The room was huge and with a wonderful bathroom and an extremely comfy bed. The staff were so lovely and helpful.
Really relaxing vibe. The luxury room is super modern and spacious. The pool area is huge.
The location is outside Lecce but they have bikes, it’s just one road (8 min bike ride) to city centre
The minute you step into the hotel you are surrounded by style and luxury. Every aspect is pleasing and well thought through. There is nothing that disappoints in this exquisite hotel.
Huge apartment, lots of room with 3 bedrooms and best laundry set up in Italy! Good safe location, 15min walk to old town and 2 euro daily parking 50m away
