Spreading for hundreds of kilometres from the mouth of the Oslofjord, Oslo is the largest city by area in Europe and is liberally covered in pristine forests rising up into the outlying hills. South of the unassuming city hall lies a vibrant waterfront known as Aker Brygge, which in summer is full of bustling outdoor restaurants and bars.
For the prettiest buildings head to affluent inner-city suburbs of Frogner and Fagerborg, or admire the traditional Scandinavian wooden houses of Bygdøy and Holmenkollen. Monumental buildings include the Royal Palace which runs daily tours and the Akershus Festning, which is a medieval castle that also served as a military base and provides impressive views of the Oslofjord. Oslo City Hall, or rådhus, offers even more distinctive architecture and it is the location of the Nobel Peace Prize ceremony.
Nature is never far away in Oslo which is ringed by an archipelago of islands which are extremely popular in summer. Hiking, kayaking and sailing are all easily achievable within the city limits. Just as popular, are the many museums. The national Museum houses Edvard Munch’s famous painting The Scream and Viking Ship Museum containing long-lost relics from Norway’s Viking past.
From downtown Sentrum to the Oslo Airport Gardermoen to the stunning statues in Frogner Park, Booking.com has over 80 hotels and other accommodations available.
Not the cleanest city in the world, but fine. People are not talkative and they are rather reserved, but they are trying to be helpful when needed. A lot of beautiful places to go, including parks, other 'nature' centres, restaurants. Great public transportation. People speak great English. Mind that everything is rather expensive. I would most certainly visit again.

Oslo is where you stay to go other places in Norway.
Oslo is where you stay to go other places in Norway. A few sights were closed, the rest were so-so. Lot of people watching in the area of Oslo Central station. Locals get out and enjoy a nice day. Pay the difference and stay near the central station, lot easier to get around, lot to do, most things walkable.

What a great city! I hope to come back again someday.
What a great city! I hope to come back again someday. Lovely people, lots of great walking areas. Excellent infrastructure for travellers (easy train transport from the airport to downtown); the tram was easy to take as a foreigner. Food was delicious everywhere we went. We were especially impressed with the Comfort Hotel Børsparken.

The only thing we did not like was the high standard of living which is good for norwegian but not good for a traveller from Central Europe :D
There are many fantastic museum which are worth to visit.
The location ( near the bus, train station, and downtown), the view from our window, the spaciousness of the room and bathroom, and how clean it was. The staff was always friendly and helpful. A very attractive and comfortable lobby area too, and it was nice to have cold water available by reception. The building is so tall it was a bonus to be able to see it from a distance for those of us with a bad sense of direction! We actually stayed twice, it was our base for traveling elsewhere in Norway.
Excellent hotel with stunning views over the fjord and city centre (we stayed on the 19th floor). Flybuss stops directly outside which was fantastic as we needed to catch the 4.10am and have three teenagers! Great breakfast (with generous amounts of smoked salmon), lovely pool and sauna and large comfortable room. Oh and also praise for having 5 lightning fast lifts as I've stayed at many a hotel that feels that 2 is enough! Would definitely come back.
Oslo Norway's quiet neighborhood stay: It's great place in the almost center of Oslo, Norway and indeed a basic budget option. A quit place with a full time reception, lot of rooms and lot of guests. Grocery :Joker" is in the same building and so is also a car park (NOK 200 per day extra). Clean rooms very good linen (you need to make your own beds though). Easy to get in and out. Good option if you are on leisure and or business visit.
Actually it’s an ordinary hotel with cons snd pros, but sometimes the most important thing is how you feel while you stay at a hotel. We felt very happy during our stay in Thon Hotel. Very cute lobby, amazing staff and special mention to breakfast. You expect this quality only in 5 star hotels maybe. A very charming breakfast room and amazing food with a wide variety
We stayed here on two separate occasions at the beginning and end of our Norway trip and for the second stay, I accidentally booked the dates for next year. The front desk was very helpful in letting us stay in a show room because the hotel was fully booked that night. The extensive breakfast buffet was very good and the rooms were clean with everything we need!
Beautiful new hotel in a great location with friendly and helpful staff! Terrific breakfast and lovely room. We stayed in two of the loft rooms (family of four) and had the best sleep of our two weeks in Norway! It’s also close to the National Theater station for easy connection to the airport. Will stay here again, highly recommend.
It's just right for staying in Oslo while visiting my son and his partner. Great value for money and very comfortable. It's not a 5 star hotel but for what it is it's excellent.
Added to this, the location is ideal with a tram stop right outside the hotel. Very convenient to access most areas in Oslo
Absolutely loved the room, it was huge, super comfy bed, very nice Shower room, pretty much a 5 star hotel bedroom.
We loved the roof top with the great view and cocktails and the breakfast buffet was excellent. The staff a super friendly and eager to assist you.
Very conveniently located. We were able to check in early which was appreciated.
No frills hotel but great value especially considering Norway prices. Would stay here again if visiting!
Modern and comfortable hotel, very good location in Oslo city centre, great value for money. The breakfast was excellent as well. Most of the rooms are small, but comfortable.
Breakfast was absolutely amazing! Huge variety, well prepared and full of delicacies you don't usually find at breakfast buffets, not even in 5 star hotels!
