Great location for a quick commute to Manhattan. You can take the Path train to WTC or midtown and connect with different subways. The room was spacious and the bed was comfy. Room was clean. They had laundry facilities to use for free (you only need to pay for detergent or bring your own).

Even with a 4 lane road right outside it was really quite. Beds were comfortable and additional pillows available in the room. What we also noticed was that the bathroom was spacious. Parking garage next door was a nice asset.

Proximity of Hyatt House JC to PATH was an exceptional advantage as I was going into NYC everyday. The bed was super comfortable. I appreciated the fact that they served hot breakfast.

I liked the safety and kind staff members, I enjoyed the comfort of the beds in the room. The breakfast was good and the seating and hours were good as well. The access to a water fountain and ice machine was so incredibly convenient. The air conditioning system worked well and kept us cool after long days of walking around in the sun. There were no signs of bugs or pests in the areas of the hotel I had seen. Very conveniently located. Very short walk to the subways, shopping, and dining.

Jersey City - I would stay in Newport, Jersey City again.
Jersey City - I would stay in Newport, Jersey City again. I've stayed NYC but would only stay in Jersey City in the future. Jersey City is clean, modern and reflects the calmer side of life rather than getting caught up in the noise of NYC. Great transport links to NYC by PATH, ferry and bus.
The shopping mall had some great restaurants and eateries offering rustic bread sandwiches, salad bowls and ramen bowls.
There's an Indian grocery store on 10th Street offering THE VERY BEST Indian food I've ever tasted. It's a must do while you're in Newport.

We decided to stay in jersey city after a day in New York as it was very quick travel and got us closer to Liberty State Park for the next day. To find a hotel with free parking and access to our car was key. Not having to drag your suitcase down the streets from your payed parking spot was a nice luxury to have. Jersey city is only 6 miles from midtown Manhattan and 6 miles from Liberty state park. After the statue of liberty, Jersey city has a KPot which is a must try or go if you've been before! AYCE!!!!

If you want to visit Manhattan every day the PATH (basically a metro, going to Jersey) is the way to go if you will use public transport.
BUT! If you are a foreigner check first how the foreign credit/debit cards work (or better to say how they are not) with the ticket wending machines.... they are funny things and usually do not accept cash.

We actually visited NYC for most of our stay, but it was a nice convenient option to balance the cost of staying right in the city, and easy access into the city. The people in the area (beyond just the hotel staff) were nice, friendly, and helpful. Enjoyed the stay!

For me as a visitor from Europe Jersey City is the perfect place to stay when visiting NYC. On one hand you have this marvelous view of downtown Manhattan - on the other hand you have a lot of shopping options at the nearby mall within Jersey City. Taking a boat trip to Manhattan and back is wonderful. Jersey City is a lot less stressful than Manhattan as a place to stay overnight. I love it here.

It was a great cheaper alternative to staying in NYC.
It was a great cheaper alternative to staying in NYC. We were going to a concert at the Brooklyn Steel pier so with traffic it was about 40 minutes to get there on a Saturday night, but we hung out in Brooklyn for a while before the show. In the morning, we went to Liberty State Park and saw the Statue of Liberty and a 911 memorial (you can take the ferry from this park to the Statue of Liberty) The bathrooms at this park were very well kept and the whole park was big and beautiful. On the way back home we stopped at Wonder Bagels which was crowded but worth the wait. Lots of shops around and it looks like a lot is being done to enhance the area.
The room is relatively more spacious than hotels in the nearby region. The staff at the front desk are extremely friendly and helpful. It utilizes a third-party parking building right next to the hotel building itself, so parking is convenient and safe. As the hotel customer, I got unlimited in-and-out pass charged on per night basis. I like it. It is also only several steps to the Hudson river- and the neighborhood is very walkable with Starbucks and Duane Reade.
The room was spacious, equipped with a nice working desk, sofa, kitchenette, and bathroom. Cleanness and comfort was satisfying. The hotel was close to subway station (5-7 mins of walking distance), restaurants and convenient stores, and situated in a charming and tranquil district of Jersey city. The breakfast was simple but you can find essential things like hot coffee, toast, eggs, butter and jam :)
The Hotel is in a beautiful area of Jersey City, right next to the train linking you to Wall street and Manhattan within few minutes. The views of the south of Manhattan are spectacular and you are also minutes away from a big park with great views of Ellis Island and the statue of Liberty. The rooms and bathrooms were very spacious. Breakfast is good but extremely busy.
Spectacular views from the rooftop bar, comfortable beds in a quiet and spacious room. Location was great with a Path train practically on the doorstep to get over to Manhattan easily. 10 min walk to the livelier Grove St area of New Jersey City. Easy transfer from Newark Airport too.
in my life saw this place only worst. Smell very bad , rooms equipment terrible. Bed is terrible. When I open blanket all hair on bed sheet. I don’t know who is checks this hotel and giving permit to be a hotel. Health department should check this place.
The staff were really helpful especially the blonde hair girl on reception can't remember her name she is a gem and the hotel is so lucky to have her. We had a very comfortable stay the beds are so comfy. Thank you to everyone
Ms. Viktoria at the front desk was very professional and made me feel satisfied as a guest despite the many challenges at this hotel. The location is quite close to the subway station and only a few stops to the heart of NYC.
Amazing hotel , everything were so perfect , view , jacuzzi , amazing room , amazing bed , quiet , clean , nice , safe , nice area , beautiful sunset with Manhattan view , employees were so polite , my best best hotel in NY
Very nice hotel. We got a free room upgrade. Perfect location with a beautiful waterfront promenade with views of the Manhattan skyline and good restaurants nearby. A quick and easy subway transfer to Manhattan is possible.
what I like about the property is how put together it looks. You can't tell that it's a really dingy place just by looking at it you can really only tell by staying there like the hotel is dingy my hotel room is dingy.
Breakfast was one of the best spreads I have ever had at a hotel. Rooms were spacious an modern. They supplied shampoo and conditioner that were we truly wonderful and not cheap like most hotels.
Nice feeling of space, loads of equipment, free coffee/laundry, the view on the Skyline, the friendliness of the staff, the foodcourt 5/10 min walk away, the calm of Jersey City vs Manhattan.
Hotel staff was friendly. Room was clean and had all necessities. Had Dove soap products. Free breakfast was on point. Would go back just for the breakfast.
