Aston Kaanapali Shores, hotel in Lahaina

Located on the beautiful Kaanapali Beach, the Aston Kaanapali Shores features an ocean-front pool and restaurants. Guests can enjoy the on-site massage center or take free scuba lessons.

We loved the spacious layout of the condo. Also we really appreciated the complimentary upgrade. The proximity to the water was great, showers had great pressure, the kitchen was accommodating for cooking, and parking was easy. We did expect a better ocean view as requested and per the pictures advertised. We had a view of the ocean from the side of the property.

Great location, nice welcome when checking in but after the service was not as expected all the more for such hotel's category. Nothing to do with French Ritz Carlton!

    Napili IS NOT LAHAINA.

Napili IS NOT LAHAINA. It is actually closer to Kahana and Kapalua and everything is different than Lahaina, including the weather! It always has been, even before the devastation. It's about time the internet caught up with the tragedy of the devastating wildfires that destroyed Lahaina. You cannot even visit Lahaina anymore. It has been reduced to a barren landscape. Until there is true healing and recovery, that city should not be used as a place name for Kaanapali, Kahana, Kapalua and all of West Maui. Booking.com could certainly help by removing the word Lahaina from all of it's listings. When travelers are searching for accommodations in West Maui, there should be an acknowledgement/memorial note about the severity of the loss of lives and livelihood. We went specifically to support the only industry they have there, tourism. The surrounding communities seem to be flourishing, but there is still so much palpable pain. A woman broke down in sobs near us and shouted at a server that there should be NO SHORT TERM RENTALS allowed in the West Maui area. I feel like our short term rental was priced way too high and if tourism is the plan for recovery, something should be done about that. If pushing tourism out of the community so it can heal is the answer then, yes, cut off short term rentals. Either option is valid but trying to do both is not. I'm not giving recommendations for a place that no longer exists (questions below) and I don't have any pictures of Lahaina, because there is nothing left there. The devastation so complete, there is barely even ruins.

My stay in Lahaina was fantastic and enjoyable.

My stay in Lahaina was fantastic and enjoyable. There are just a fabulous array of activities available that one needs to be selective in prioritizing the ones that they would enjoy…here are a few that I enjoyed-visit to Ali’i Kula Lavender Farm in Kula. Their scones are fabulous as well as their aromatherapy range. Thoroughly enjoyed my time there I then spent the rest of my time snorkeling, hiking, a ‘road to HANA’ trip is a must-do, swimming around the stunning beaches in kana’apaali, Wailea, Hana, ate at the local farmer’s market, serving wholesome unadulterated, non-gmo fruits & vegetables, gulped down lots of shaved ice, relished lots of poke bowls & sushi. Such an amazing trip indeed!

Our trip was an 80th birthday celebration with a total of 14 family members. We enjoyed a Luau in Lahaina, and had photos taken on the beach by a professional photographer. We also walked around the town, enjoyed shave ice and did some shopping. Had a nice dinner at Kimo's. Did a snorkeling trip that was a lot of fun, and a sunset dinner cruise. Also drove to Haleakala and explored the up country a bit. Lots to do in the Lahaina region!

I paid for a double room, 2 beds and requested by email 3x for accessible room for my 2 daughters in wheelchairs, when we arrived I was told I did not have a reservation, and after 2 hours, could get a room on the 11th floor for an additional $225 a night. The room extremely small, and my daughter the amputee was not able to get from the kitchen to the bathroom, it was so narrow. I did go to the front desk and complain, the next night they did move us to the Garden Bungalows with a King size bed (for 3 persons), we called for a roll-a-way bed, one came my daughter was almost sleeping on the floor the bed was so bad (she was sick from a bad ache, due to the bad bed), on the 3rd night they did replace the roll-a-way with a proper one. Our room was never cleaned, or new linen, or trash emptied. The room was not very clean, they were ants or termites in the corner of the room and the floor was not clean. We had to go to get our own towels, linen an make our own beds.

The grounds are gorgeous, spacious, even games to play on the grounds like shuffleboard, small golf course just for practice! Pool & the hot tub were enjoyed. I find it interesting how the seawall works so effectively and you can sit just staring at the ocean. My unit was large with a complete loft which because I was at a conference all day spent very little time in the room. That particular unit needs to refurbish some of their furniture for example a swivel chair was broken. It was exceptionally clean and I appreciated that. The view from the fourth floor was fantastic.

very friendly family run hotel. ten minutes walk into town so no need to drive to anywhere in Lahaina as long as a short walk is ok. bikes also available but I didn't use. decent sized pool with ample beds and chairs around. AC worked well in room, hotel is in a quiet area near an OK beach with better ones just ten to fifteen minutes drive away. also had plenty of beach stuff to use eg chairs snorkel gear cool bags etc so no need to go spending in the local shops for that sort of stuff or at least check it out first.

The location of this hotel is truly stunning. We saw some whales and turtles just straight from our balcony. The hotel is located at the end of the beachwalk, which is perfect as gives much more intimacy than the other hotels nearby, where tourists just wander around the hotels' common areas - not very relaxing. The room was very well-equipped with everything we needed like blender, oven, etc. There is also a big parking outside, so no issues with finding the spot.

It was the perfect location, within steps of the best beach, Cannery Mall and Old Lahaina Town Center. The Maui Home is clean, cool and comfortable, truly a very private Home away from home with all its many amenities. Especially enjoyed the pool/spa and could not have found a better place to celebrate our anniversary than this beautiful Maui Home. Also highly recommend the Old Lahaina Lu’au, conveniently located within walking distance.

There are lovely outdoor spaces to congregate and be social. I really enjoyed getting to know several young nomads and adventurers. The location is perfect, and you have immediate beach access (you can rent surf boards and the like from the Hostel). Lahaina harbor is 1 block away with tons of small shops, restaurants and bars. This isn’t a luxury hotel, but the house is kept clean, and I always felt safe.

Lovely old hotel steeped in Hawaiian history. Excellent location, could walk everywhere in Lahaina, or just hang out in the stunning banyon tree park, or at the library park watching new surfers. Construction at wharf was not a problem. Loved the balcony looking on courtyard and through palm trees to ocean. Very nice and helpful staff- enjoyed it so added a night 😊.

Wonderful location a few hundred feet away from the ocean. The best part of this building, Kaanapali Ocean Inn, was our balcony, which partially faced the ocean and the waves could be heard. The location is the only good thing about this building. The pools located at the Royal Lahaina were beautiful, and the high boys provided a great view of the ocean.

Excellent location, very comfortable, and convenient. It is beachfront, in the best area to stay in Maui in my opinion, and it has two restaurants onsite, and a water sports rental store, and it is next to the best two snorkeling spots in the island: Honokeana cove, and Kapalua bay.

The best part, what even the $2,000 per night resorts can't compete with, is that you are literally steps away from one of the most gorgeous sandy beaches on Maui. Views are incredible. The beach itself is amazing.
