Set in Udawalawe, 16 km from Udawalawe National Park, Hasthi Safari Cottage features accommodation with a hot tub, spa facilities and wellness packages. Couldn’t recommend this place any higher. Hasthi the host is incredible. His attention to detail, care for his visitors and cooking were unbelievable. He organised a car to get us there from the airport, and even drove us personally to our next destination. He goes out of his way like nothing I’ve experienced before. Breakfast and dinner were delicious. The safari driver he organised (his friend) was also amazing. Would only have loved to have stayed longer.

A great area in front of the beautiful river. Good value for money, dinner was very good!! And the staff is very friendly. The beds are comfortable and the room is very clean! We took a safari with them and it was great. Totally recommend it

Boasting garden views, Tsuru Villa provides accommodation with patio, around 37 km from Udawalawe National Park. This villa has a private pool, a garden and free private parking. Stunning location! Properly isolated and very peaceful. The room is big and spacious with a superb view of the lake and mountains. We had an amazing time here and got to relax and unwind with the family. The caretaker also really went out of his way to look after us. We also got the chance to go to Udawalawe national park and see elephants. Overall the trip was perfect especially at that price! I wish we could have stayed for more days but we have made plans to come again for a longer stay. A hidden Jewel!

Very beautiful garden with two cottages. Lovely host, very friendly. The food was homecooked by the mother of the host, all very authentic, tasty, good portions for a very fair price!

It seems like it would be suitable for a long-term stay with the family. The inn is within walking distance of the bus terminal, making it convenient for travelers. The host is kind.

Featuring accommodation with a private pool, pool view and a balcony, Kurunduketiya Private Rainforest Resort is located in Kalawana. This was one of the best nature accommodation experiences that I've ever had. We were able to completely disconnect and bathe in nature for two days. I never write reviews but honestly felt compelled to do so for this property. I kind of am scared that somehow many people will find out about it and it will lose it's beautiful appeal by becoming overcrowded! But for anyone thinking about having an adventure and venturing deep into the jungle in Sri Lanka spending a night surrounded by the elements in an amazing luxury setup with absolutely wonderful staff and an exceptional cook then look no other way. Thank you for allowing us to have such an amazing experience. It had been years since we were able to slow down and do just nothing. And us spending our day idly was the best part of this stay. Reading, writing, hiking, trekking, swimming in a natural pool, listening to the rain and the river water flowing, watching fireflies, staring at the shadows of trees on the ceiling, we felt that we were children again! We'll definitely be coming back. A big thank you to Chandana and Dissanayake for their great hospitality and absolutely AMAZING food. And of course a big thank you to the owner of the property that was extremely helpful making sure we are comfortable and very well taken care of during our stay. Please keep the property the gem that it is, sustainably nestled inside the jungle co-existing with Sinharaja in such a beautiful way! Thanks for providing us with such a great opportunity to reconnect with nature.

Set in Embilipitiya, 37 km from Udawalawe National Park and 47 km from Tangalle Lagoon, aji fruit farm offers water sports facilities and air conditioning. Aji's Fruit Farm is a unique place to stay. The cottage/bungalow has two bedrooms, complete kitchen facilities, air-conditioning and a washing machine!!! The wide verandah has comfortable table and chairs for relaxing and taking in the breeze. The cottage is situated amid grassy coconut groves on an award-winning fruit farm. Just meters away is the property lake front where you can swim. At the you have a lovely cabana, hammocks and swing (with outdoor restaurant under construction). Sunrise view from the cabana should not be missed followed by a delicious breakfast. Aji is a wonderful, thoughtful host. The accommodation is about 30 minutes from Uda Walawe NP, so within easy access, and a lovely peaceful alternative. We were sorry we could only stay one night.

Featuring air-conditioned accommodation with a terrace, Dew Safari Cottage is located in Udawalawe. There is an on-site restaurant, plus free private parking and free WiFi are available. This was my best stay in Srilanka. This place exceeded my expectations and standards. This place is just 5mins walk from the main road. The room is very spacious and clean. I loved fresh fragrant bed covers and towels. The bathroom was super clean and had hot shower. After a long tiring journey, I was so glad to see everything so nice and comfortable. The owner of the place is a wonderful chef. She made the best Srilankan dishes for me and lots of varieties each day so much that I couldn’t eat them all. Her flavourful dishes were the best part of my stay. She even packed my breakfast early morning at 5:30 am for the safari. She also made me organic health drinks every day. On New Year’s Eve the owner took me to a very sacred Buddhist temple in the countryside. They took care of me so well that I almost felt like being at my home. They also have a beautiful garden with lots of birds and a lovely cat. The family arranged my safari to the national park and called a tuk tuk whenever I needed. I would love to go back again to this place. It was just perfect!
