We liked the location, cleanliness, spacious and modern style, and staff friendliness. The bed was so soft and had enough blankets that kept us warm. The staff was welcoming and easy-going. Though we didn't need anything they were available and would have been accommodating.

The property was clean and smelt fresh. The bed was extremely comfortable. I liked that the property was within walking distance of restaurants to eat at. A continental breakfast was included in the price. The host was very helpful and offered us advice on places to eat and attractions to visit.

The location and gentleman that checked us in were good. But even at half the price we were charged would still be a rip off for the room. Very disappointed got offered drugs by people there as well as the taxi driver

We were just staying the night when passing through on a road trip. The check-in process was straightforward. It's pretty secure with a lock-up carpark and key card entry. The accommodation was pretty dirty, especially in communal areas. The hallway to the room smelt so bad of old pub food. Like the smell of the restaurant must waft up and the smell stays and becomes stagnant. The room was uncomfortable. There's no lamp, just one big light that is so bright and white. The bed was OK, but the pillows were so thin and wispy. The bathrooms were dirty with wet towels on the ground, and there were only two toilets for the entire floor. It was not enough. I actually wouldn't leave a review for these things because they are not big problems, but the price for accommodation here is way too high for how unpleasant it is to stay. I'd advise anyone travelling through to not stay in Dubbo and instead find a nice little pub in one of the smaller towns around. They seemed to have better prices and better charm.

Restaurant food was best part of the stay - rooms were shabby and needed a lot of work.

Great stay. Reception closed a little early but understandable for a country town in off-peak season.

Dubbo was a great family trip! (My partner completely disagrees however..) We could have stayed for longer, the observatory was incredible, Peter Starr still ran the night sky tour even though it was just our family booked. I can’t believe the things we saw through the telescope there! Nebulas, star nurseries, things outside the Milky Way, stars that look like one to the eye and then are actually 3 stars! The zoo was great too - highly recommend the golf cart hire, the kids definitely enjoyed that more than the animals. But the animals were also great and feeding the giraffes was a highlight - I had no idea they had so much personality! The coffee in town was good too lots of cafes to choose from…. We didn’t do the dining scene proud as we had domino’s and subway for dinner but at least the kids were fed!

The zoo pass covers two days and it’s great to be able to exit the zoo and come back again so we could go get lunch and come back later in the day for when the lions were right at the glass screens!
Great value for money.
The old Dubbo gaol is very small and very over priced for what it has to offer and the short amount of time it takes to see it all.

Lots to see and places to visit all within an easy commute.
Lots to see and places to visit all within an easy commute. Never been to a big rural city like Dubbo that has so many railway crossings they are everywhere. Lots of history and culture in Dubbo that needs to be developed better and guides to where everything is to be located. Dubbo is a big rural city but has a great modern hospital located there.

There is much in and around Dubbo, you just need the time and resources to look around, there are places worth a visit less that 1 hour by car around Dubbo,
The Plains zoo is probably worth going back the next day to catch those things you missed on the first days tour, the second day entry is included in the ticket price

As a family we were in Dubbo for the attractions.
As a family we were in Dubbo for the attractions. We purchased a Big Pass, which got us into the Zoo for 2 days, RFDS Experience, Old Dubbo Gaol and Wellington Caves. It was good value for money and all of the experiences were excellent to do as a family. We particularly loved the zoo and caves (even booking a second tour at the caves to see the Gaden one as well as Cathedral). We ate at Royal Indian on our first night, which was excellent dining and reasonably priced. During our stay we also ate at Burger Urge and a mexican restaurant - both of which were good but a bit more 'takeoutish'. The main street had plenty of shopping experiences for the kids, with our daughter loving the local games D&D store. We also were there over New Years, and attended the fireworks on the oval for a small $2 per person charge - very reasonable. This was good family fun with plenty of food van options. Our kids really enjoyed the Dubbo Pool and water slides (extra cost and a bit pricey for a family at $10 pp for 30 minutes) and went there on a few days to enjoy the splashpark and cool off in the pool. Altogether we had a really lovely family experience and would recommend it for a 1 week visit for any family.
The staff were so helpful and we enjoyed having the seating at the barbecue area next to the motel units as we had a group of 6. Two only had 4 days but we had the 5th with our close friends. We really enjoyed the Zoo the second day as you knew where to go. The Devils Hollow Brewery was exceptional and the Red Earth wine tasting was enjoyable. We saw so much of Dubbo so came away feeling like we really had a holiday!
The room was spacious enough for our family of four. It was clean and comfortable. The location was perfect for getting to all the main attractions in Dubbo. Having breakfast included was an extra bonus. The staff at the restaurant attached to the hotel were lovely as was the food. We didn't have one bad meal and we ate their 3 nights in a row because of this, the delicious food and amazing convenience.
Friendly staff and very accommodating to my situation. I had a funeral service at 2pm and the facility allowed me to check-in early at 1pm to get ready for the service. It was very helpful and I appreciated it coming from Sydney to Dubbo 5 hours away. Michael was very friendly and polite and definitely next time in Dubbo will return to The Palm Dubbo.
We loved the splash park and pools, Our cabin was close by and was safe to walk too the play area.
The staff were all amazing, always had a smile on there face and always said hello. The reception ladies were so understanding and helpful. The location in Dubbo was ideal. Not far from the zoo.
Lovely cottage, with a beautiful fenced in garden. Perfect to sit and watch the kangaroos & farm animals. Quiet & serene location but still close to Dubbo Zoo. Bathrooms were newly renovated with lovely showers. Owners & staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Highly recommend a visit
Clean, quiet, very comfortable and has all the items needed for a very enjoyable stay. Beds were so comfy! Staff were very friendly and helpful. Great location too, short walking distance to the main street in Dubbo and a short drive to the Western Plains zoo!
We enjoyed our stay at The Oxley and would definitely stay again when in Dubbo.
Great sized room, spotless and good value for money.
The room was well equipped with everything we needed for our stay.
Very friendly and helpful staff also.
The unit we had was very spacious , Beds were very Comfortable and had a great kitchen to use , Lounge chairs were good & location to the Hotel & Club for meals and a Beer . Also Short drive to the Zoo was also good
Enjoyed our Dubbo visit. Accommodation was adequate and convenient for visiting the Zoo. Zoo was nothing to rave about.
Bed comfortable which is always a plus when driving big distances.
The location was beautiful. It was family friendly and quiet. Conveniently located near zoo. Very spacious and comfortable. I would return again. Well worth the money.
