Hótel á svæðinu Takao í Kyoto

Takao Kanko Hotel er 600 metrum frá Jingo-ji-hofinu. Það býður upp á herbergi í japönskum stíl með útsýni yfir ána og en-suite baðherbergi. The food was amazing and staff were great.

Momojiya Annex er staðsett meðfram Kiyotakigawa-ánni og býður upp á hefðbundin herbergi með einkabaði undir berum himni og útsýni yfir skóginn. We loved the dinner, service and the facilities.

Momojiya of Takao er hljóðlát hefðbundin japönsk gistikrá við Kiyotakigawa-ána. The traditional kaiseki dinner and breakfast was excellent - food was plentiful and delicious. Staff was very warm and friendly. We were able to book the private open air bath (additional 4000 yen), but the water was hot and the mountain view was lovely. (Best to arrive early if you are planning to book a private bath as preferred times get snapped up quickly). There is a path where you can hike up to a temple nearby, but there really isn't much else in the area.

Ryokan Yamazaki er í 10 mínútna akstursfjarlægð frá Kinkaku-ji-hofinu og býður upp á heitt almenningsbað, morgunverð og hefðbundinn kvöldverð gegn aukagjaldi. I was traveling together with a friend and she preferred to book a place a bit outside of the city. The place is still very accessible by bus (stop is almost in front of the house), or even the tram if (you don’t mind a 15 minutes walk). The staff was very kind and welcoming and you will easily get along with English, if you don’t speak Japanese. The rooms were tidy and comfortable and would also recommend to take the Japanese breakfast in the house. Cannot judge the dinner since we usually returned late and ate somewhere else. Highly recommend the ryokan!
