Isang tahimik at tradisyonal na Japanese inn sa kahabaan ng Kiyotakigawa River, nag-aalok ang Momojiya of Takao ng mga Japanese-style room na may mga tanawin ng kagubatan, mga public bath na may mga... The traditional kaiseki dinner and breakfast was excellent - food was plentiful and delicious. Staff was very warm and friendly. We were able to book the private open air bath (additional 4000 yen), but the water was hot and the mountain view was lovely. (Best to arrive early if you are planning to book a private bath as preferred times get snapped up quickly). There is a path where you can hike up to a temple nearby, but there really isn't much else in the area.

A 10-minute drive from Kinkaku-ji Temple, Ryokan Yamazaki offers a hot public bath and serves breakfast and traditional dinners for an additional fee. I was traveling together with a friend and she preferred to book a place a bit outside of the city. The place is still very accessible by bus (stop is almost in front of the house), or even the tram if (you don’t mind a 15 minutes walk). The staff was very kind and welcoming and you will easily get along with English, if you don’t speak Japanese. The rooms were tidy and comfortable and would also recommend to take the Japanese breakfast in the house. Cannot judge the dinner since we usually returned late and ate somewhere else. Highly recommend the ryokan!
