Such a special, lovely house. Beautiful food, so fresh - picked from the garden. Best meal we had in Japan. Lovely warm hosts. An absolute highlight of our trip.

Located in the historical town of Magome, Tajimaya features Japanese-style accommodations in a 110-year old building. Each room features a flat-screen TV, and guests can relax in the public bath. Everything was perfect about the stay, it was clean and comfortable. Dinner and breakfast served was very nice. This was my fav stay in Japan

Just 40 metres from restored Edo-era post town Magome-Juku, Chaya Hotel has simple traditional rooms with futon bedding and a tatami-mat floor. Stuff is very friendly, the location is amazing, shared bedrooom is huge and clean. They were very helpful when I forgot my Kindle there (they messaged me before I even realized that) - resolved within a few hours and I have my Kindle back. Thank youu!

Situated in Nakatsugawa and only 20 km from Ōi, 馬籠ふるさと学校 Magome Furusato Gakkou features accommodation with mountain views, free WiFi and free private parking. The host was super friendly and very helpful, even when we had some additional requests. Thanks so much for all the help! The rooms were veeery spacious (converted classrooms). The shared toilet & shower facilities were also very clean and nice—overall the building interior felt very new.
