It's situated in a lively area, and there's a shopping center behind it.

TL;DR: Wonderful choice of a hotel, with nice facilities, ample amenities, and a nice neighborhood. We had a great stay at Act Hotel Roppongi. The facilities are modern and pleasant, the amenities are generous, the staff was lovely, there were little treats that we really appreciated, like free coffee and ice cream, as well as access to the roof garden, which was amazing. The location is really convenient for getting around Tokyo, and there are many shops, izakaya, bars, and clubs nearby. Attractions like the Tokyo tower, teamLab Borderless, the National ART Center, and more, are also accessible on foot from the hotel. Overall, we are really pleased with our choice. While the reviews for this hotel are overwhelmingly positive, there are some mentioning the room sizes are small. Also, there are many guides online insisting that the best places to stay in Tokyo for ease of transportation are Shinjuku and Shibuya. From our experience, these two concerns do not really hold much water. The cheaper rooms are quite small at 11 square meters, yes, but if you have up to 2 carry-on suitcases and other smaller bags, the room space will suffice. The interior is arranged in a very efficient way, with no compromises made in the shower, toilet or bed space. The passageway, while not exactly spacious, can fit 2 carry-on suitcases laid flat easily. The only space that is a bit crammed is the bathroom sink. Although it was not a problem for us, it may be a problem for bigger people. It's worth noting that the hotel also offers access to the terrace, coffee, soft serve ice cream and things like toothbrushes, pijamas, slippers and other stuff,all complimentary, which is very appreciated. Also, the staff can speak English and are very kind and helpful. Now, about the location. The hotel is located close to 3 metro lines, so you could be anywhere in Tokyo in under 30 minutes.

I really don't understand some reviewers saying that this hotel was disappointing, or that the rooms are small compared to Western hotels. Being this our first trip to Japan, and with our baby on board, we were very worried about what to expect, especially because the price is not cheap compared to hotels in other parts of the world (not a con of the hotel, just a fact about Japan). The rooms are OK in size for the price paid. Definitely not a shoebox. The mattress and the pillows are very, very comfortable. Your legs won't go out of the mattress, that's for sure :-) All the amenities are just top quality. I was pleasantly surprised with the bathroom and its details. The staff is helpful and available 24/7 (this was another thing that made us worry, as some people mentioned that they were unfriendly and not really able to speak in English). The location is excellent. 2 mins away from Roppongi Station, in the lively Roppongi, which we will definitely would stay again (not too geeky, not too crowded). Next to the hotel there is a convenience store 24/7, places to eat, etc. If this is your first stay in Tokyo, stay here. For us it was the best stay in years of travelling around the world.

Offering direct access from Exit 2 of Roppongi Itchome Subway Station, Hotel Villa Fontaine Grand Tokyo-Roppongi features contemporary rooms with free WiFi access. The hotel was right in front of the metro Namboku line so it was easy to move to other areas. The room was very clean and comfortable.
