We stayed in Pod 1. We highly recommend the Pods for a truly unique experience. the lodge is beautiful but spending the night on the mountain is unmatchable. It’s a 40 minute drive from the Lodge to the Pods but it’s spectacular.

We had a dinner also with this view. The rooms are pretty, all made us to feel good!! We had a small Kia Picanto rental car, very small one. Luckily it was not rainy season, so it was no problem to go up with this car, we had to drive slow and carefully and all was fine!!! The hotel is not far from Addo National Park, so before heading there we made a 2 hour driving from the northern entrance of the park and we saw many elephants and other animals.

Gorgeous tented camp set in a lush area, lovely main building with excellent meals served by friendly, attentive staff, tents set off individually for privacy, each with a sweeping view of the preserve. Our guide, Lenny, was very experienced and we learned much about the many animals we saw - lion, cheetah, elephant, rhino, giraffe, many kinds of antelope, warthog, more! We did 6 3 -hour drives; suggest booking enough time to do at least 4-6.

El Bush Lodge está situado en la reserva de caza de Amakala Big Five y cuenta con un ambiente íntimo. What can I say .. the accommodation was great, lodge staff were wonderful - caring, professional and friendly and catered to our needs. I've stayed at other lodges in South Africa but this stay was more relaxed, it felt more like a family stay. We met some other guests we now keep in touch with. Our guide Roan was the best, passionate and very knowledgeble and able to answer all questions and find animals and plants we wanted to see. And of course the wildlife and fantastic setting of Amarkhala were the icing on the cake!

Everything was perfect: the game drives, the lodge and the tents, the staff, the food, the care for the details. The only pity is we stayed only one night.
