The houses were quiet, cozy and clean. The game drives were spectacular. It felt like everyone from our guide, Prem, to our waitress, Barbra, were going above and beyond with their hospitality. We were completely enamored.

I stayed for 6 nights and every single day was special! I was looking for something small, private and isolated in contrast to the typical "see the big 5 plans" in order to enjoy what the bush has to offer, and my expectations were absolutely exceeded. The staff is simply amazing. Ed and Ivone are amazing hosts! Ed is an amazing guide and apart from knowing everything about the bush, he really knows how to transfer his knowledge to his guests in a very passionate and genuine way. Ivone is very friendly, helpful and she always wanted to make sure that we were having a good time while we were in the camp. Sibu and Eunita were very sweet and they cooked delicious meals for us! Our last game drive was carried out with Tim who was also very knowledgeable and friendly :) The camp is beautiful and the way it is built respect the environment where is located; somehow open and mainly made of wood. During our game drives we were fortunate to see a lot of game and Ed gave us amazing explanations from a wide range of subjects, apart from sharing his personal experience from his time in the bush, which I really appreciated.

However, once there, the drive is worth the effort. Wild open area. Friendly staff. Delicious dinner and breakfast. Room large and charming with comfortable bed.

The tent offers a barbecue and mountain views. Summerplace Game Reserve is one of South Africa’s premier mountain biking destinations. Escape to the bush and experience life outdoors. I took my fiancé (then girlfriend) away for the weekend with the intention of proposing. I got in contact with the reserve and told them about my plans and requested them to assist with the set-up. They took us out on a private game drive whilst the staff was preparing a breakfast spot at the view point. Everyone assisted and overshot expectations. Apart from the lengths they went to to make the moment special, the whole weekend was amazing. The staff is exceptionally friendly and one feels at home. I would definitely recommend Summerplace for a weekend break away.

Built on an elevated riverbank, these luxury, canvas tent suites are set on stilted wooden decks. Jeffrey, our guide, was amazing! He made the safari experience such an unforgettable memory. Him and Brighton were wonderful and incredibly knowledgeable. We have been able to see all the Big 5. The staff was nice, the room perfectly clean, food was good and you get fed a lot.
