The Tsitsikamma Wolf Sanctuary, non-profit company, was established in 2001. The oldest and first wolf sanctuary in South Africa. We are a safe-haven for surrendered wolves and high-content wolf dogs. We are a non-breeding and non-touch facility. Wolves are wild animals therefore we do not do any interactions inside any of the enclosures.

Hear the wolves howl to the moon as it rises over the Tsitsikamma mountain range whilst sitting around the fire. Be immersed in nature as you tune in to the spirit of the wolf here at the oldest wolf sanctuary in SA. Nestled between the mountains, Elandsriver, pine plantations and indigenous forest, the Sanctuary provides a safe haven for wolves. Stay in one of our two RUSTIC wood/hiker cabins with self-catering kitchen. Day Pass and Guided Tour to the Sanctuary included. During peak season, the space where the cabins are is a communal space during the day (9am - 4pm) where it doubles up as a visitor's area with a seasonal café, serving drinks and something light to eat. After 4pm the space is private with no other Sanctuary day-visitor interference. The Sanctuary is quiet most of the time throughout the year, but December / January we do expect more visitors; so you can either enjoy the vibe with us that we create during season, or use the time to go explore the surrounding areas. We are a wolf sanctuary and a fully functioning farm, living in harmony with nature and striving for self-sustainability, so, nothing fancy. The farm is a fully operational Wolf Sanctuary, and we need to take care of the wolves 24/7, but we do respect our guest's privacy at all times. Most of the Wolf Sanctuary is openly accessible to visitors staying in the cabins and your accommodation cost includes an educational guided tour of the Sanctuary. There are permanent residents residing on the other side of the Sanctuary, so these areas are private. We ask that you respect the wolves and their space by not being loud or shouting, playing loud music or teasing or feeding of the animals. Wolves are very skittish by nature and we try and keep them stress-free at all times. We will not tolerate any misconduct towards the wolves and we hold the right to ask you to leave the premises if we come across such or if you attempt to enter into any of the enclosures (they do bite!).

Just off the N2, between Plettenburg Bay and Jeffrey's Bay, hidden away you will find the Tsitsikamma Wolf Sanctuary situated just 16km from Stormsriver Village, 30km from the Tsitsikamma Garden Route National Park, and 51km from Nature's Valley. Tsitsikamma is known as the Adventure Capital of SA with forests, mountains and nearby beaches. There is a surplus of hiking and mountain biking trails around to ensure that you get the best Tsitsikamma nature experience.
