We were a group of seven, so one of our party had to sleep in the common room on the large sofa, but it was not uncomfortable and we were happy with the extra linens and pillows provided. The rooms were all comfortable and the supplies provided met our needs. A bus station for transport to the hike start was only 50-75m from the hotel. The hotel had a beautiful view and food in the restaurant was extremely tasty. Although other reviews complained of noise from the factory, we found our stay quiet and undisturbed. The staff was extremely friendly and prepared a to-go meal for us, since we were leaving before breakfast. The sandwiches and fruit were perfect while on our day hike.

The restaurant is excellent, highly recommended for dinner, the best meal I ate in Norway. Breakfast selection is great, closes a little early at 9am, but starts very early for hikers so understandable. Proximity to the Trolltunga hike is great.

We like that the hotel offers the lunch sack option instead of breakfast on our hiking day. The location is perfect. The building is beautiful, classic, and near the fjord. The bus to P2 parking lot has a stop at the hotel. So we don’t need to drive up to P1 to catch the bus to P3. It saved our time and energy for hiking Trolltunga.
