There is a rooftop with space to read, sunbathe, watch the sun rise over the mountain, and eat breakfast. The service is personal and friendly. Gian Paolo provided up-to-date information about the footpaths, the weather, timetables, etc. We learned what these siblings did before they opened Locanda Il Carugio, about their family that lives across the road and more.

Featuring a terrace and garden, Hotel La Colonnina offers accommodation in Monterosso al Mare. Guests can enjoy a continental breakfast daily, buffet-style. The staff was so oncredibly inviting! The hotel was very clean and beautiful. Our room was very big and very nicely decorated. Bathrooms appeared to be marble tile. The breakfast was great and the wonderful lady that made cappuccinos created fun designs of jellyfish and various fishes in the frothed milk. It was a great stay and very much woth the price. They also had discounted stays if you call them directly, as well as discounts on the Cinque Terre train and hiking card. The hotel was also located within a quick walk to the main promenade areas of the old town, but it was one alley back away from the main streets so there was zero noise. The courtyard was also really nice to sit in and sip a glass of wine.

Staff was lovely, the facilities even more beautiful than pictured. We booked one of the tents and it was even better than I hoped with clear, gorgeous views and comfortable everything. Breakfast was generous and we loved that they offered shuttle service to the train station. We also rented bikes for a day which was a great way to get around and see things.
