Surrounded by a vast jungle, Casa Ka’an is an eco-friendly property that functions with solar panels, solar water heaters and biodigestors for waste water treatment. Properly hidden away in the middle of the jungle, even though it's only just over 6km from Xpujil. We were expecting basic but the room was amazing and the bed was the comfiest (and biggest!) I slept on in the whole of the Yucutan Peninsula! Considering how remote it is, you connect to the wifi by scanning a QR code and the lights in the room can be controlled by an Alexa! There's also a sofa in the room, tea and coffee making facilities (but no milk!), a fridge and a fully-stocked wine bar! The owners were incredibly friendly, helpful and accommodating. We arrived quite late at night, having got no tour or transport booked to Calakmul the following day. After enquiring about our options, we agreed to book a tour directly with them. But, knowing that we were keen to see the bat cave and also to try and see Calakmul on a budget, the lady suggested instead that we get a collectivo and arranged for us to pick it up from Casa Ka'an. This was half the price of the tour, and they didn't have to mention it but they did in order to help us, and it was greatly appreciated. There's an attached restaurant (a few mins walk from our room, attached to the main reception) and they serve a wonderful breakfast and a fantastic choice of evening meals at pretty reasonable prices. We were gutted that we had to leave early to catch a night bus, because I was so looking forward to a second night in that super comfy bed and a second breakfast too!

Very dedicated to the cause owner, had inexpensive delicious dinner there (fish in garlic sauce, french fries, rice, veggies), the owner Sergio truly tries you have the best experience there. Sea across the road, nice to look at, but windy, not inviting to swim in. Owner however has kayaks and you can take them to the lagoon on other side of property. Beds comfy, quiet area, all was great. Only small negative, it's a bit out of the way, part of the road bumpy ride. Txs, Sergio, we will fondly remember your lovely place!

The hotel has very much a spa-like atmosphere. There is relaxing music all around at the reception and the pool. Available drinks during the day. Exactly like in spa. The room was spacious enough and well equipped with AC and fans. The temperature was possible to be set perfectly. Location of the hotel is perfect in the historical center. Very safe and with a lot of options close by.

This is a review of Hotel Plaza Campeche which I was switched to after booking. Very clean and comfortable hotel and delighted to find a decent shower with reliable hot water and good pressure! It’s just a few minutes walk from the main square. The lady on reception was very helpful with my problems with booking a bus.
