Puerto del cielo is a super cute family run hotel in a lovely peaceful spot by the sea, and away from the toursit bustle of Progresso to the East. Jill and Randy were the most helpful and lovely hosts who really looked after me, including hooking me up with a bike rental and pointing me towards local rustic spots to grab food. The rooms are incredibly nice and tastefully done, and I loved my twenty yard stroll down into the warm ocean then sits in the thatch covered veranda watching the waves and writing. I will come again.

A personal thanks to Fernando who really stood out! And then the rooms. Just gorgeous, generous in size, with all the amenities, a hammock to relax, super comfy bed, plenty of towels and a grand and majestic marble bathtub in a tropical garden within the room filled with flowers. I mean wow!

Private parking in the courtyard (which you need, I wouldnt park on the streets there). Family owned hotel with personal touch. Bed matrases toughnes is 5/10 comfortable. Security is based on family presence in the house, locks and doors are basic.

Located a few steps from Playa El Cuyo, Casa Mia El Cuyo Eco Beach Boutique Hotel offers 3-star accommodation in El Cuyo and features a fitness centre, a garden and a terrace. Casa Mia is a great place to stay with the beach and the kitespot just a 100 meter stroll away. Wonderful clean beach and a great kitespot with more than enough place to launch. We stayed in the somewhat smaller Ocean room and later in the suite. Both are very clean and equipped with a good shower and beautiful views. The suite is equipped with a refrigerator and a nice space to sit comfortably. Both rooms, like the rest of the building, are wonderfully airy and have good mosquito nets. The staff are cheerful and you can tell that they are having a good time. The tireless owner Marco, with his smile, friendliness, tips and tricks, ensures that you feel welcome and never want to go home. We have used the communal kitchen which is clean and equipped with sufficient materials to cook dinner. Casa Mia also caters for downwinders with a delicious lunch on the beach. All in all, we can wholeheartedly recommend Casa Mia to everyone, but certainly also to the kite surfers among us.
