The staff were polite and helpful and the food at breakfast and in the restaurant was exceptional, inventive and delicious. A superb stay and if we are in the vicinity again it would be the only place I would stay

The hotel is owned by a family and we really felt like visiting (previously unknown) relatives. We were well looked after, but the attention to one's wellbeing is shown in a charming and unobtrusive way. The house itself is beautifully restored and well equipped. The breakfast was served at the table and was delicious.

You should take a city tour with bycicle and on your foot. We ate in a nice restaurant: Pasta Fabrik. The town is very intimate, with a very much young people. You should visit the lake near Groningen.

Great rooms. Everything was neat and clean and definitely met expectations. It was nice to have a bath in the bathroom as well. The restaurant was also very well kept with very friendly waiting staff. The experience was fantastic overall and in general a must-stay when compared to other hotels.

I was in a single room and it was very comfortable to me. The location of the hotel is perfect- so close to the center, transport, shops, etc. The hotel's stuff were so kind. It excedeed my expectations and I recommend the hotel!

Friendly staff, superb location, huge jacuzzi, very comfortable bed. Could get a bit loud as it's on really busy street, my windows faced the street and rowdy bar goers were a bit too much, however hotel is great. Will definetely stay here again.

Was perfect.. Outside the weather was snow cold, but the room was nice, clean and warm.free coffee and tee in the room. I highly recomend.. Only we will ask hor more vegetables in the breakfast next time (for vegans). Over all best value for money...

Staying at the Fortress was like living in a fairy tale. There were only 2 restaurants available but they had amazing food and service. Walking around and exploring the fortress was lovely. It was a good place to relax and take in the beautiful scenery. The rooms were very cute and sleeping in a box bed was a cool experience. Super comfortable.
