Great little spot in a jungle neighborhood. Super friendly owners. We were hungry when we arrived and they were making chicken curry for their lunch, and added us to the preparations. Very unique location. I slept really well then off the next day for diving.

The room was more than spacious and tastefully decorated. Everything was provided that you might need in your stay, and if it wasn't there, reception would take care of it. The staff are always friendly and the service was excellent. I am vegetarian and the chef in the fine dining restaurant prepared me some fake chicken drumsticks, they were very tasty (I informed them of my diet a day in advance). It was my birthday, so they brought me a small cake with a candle. These little touches give add to the experience.

The Sepilok Forest Edge Resort is definitely one of the best hotels where we stayed during our two-week Borneo trip. Its location right at the entrance to the Orangutan Rehabilitation Center is unbeatable. The hotel grounds themselves are spacious and the bungalows are not clustered together, making it wonderfully quiet. We stayed in one at the very back with a view into the jungle. We have never seen so many different monkeys strolling by as we did there. Simply incredible to be surrounded by nature like that. The rooms themselves are large, very clean and the bed is super comfortable. The partially outdoor bathroom is spacious enough and equipped with everything you need. The entire resort is extremely peaceful and calming. The restaurant serves many Western dishes, including plenty of vegetarian options, which we appreciated as it can be difficult to find a wider selection of vegetarian food in this part of the world. We would have loved to stay longer.
