Listing fails to mention bar under hotel

Location was in the middle of the Gaslamp and very convenient for our stay loved everything about the property easy to access , no one bothered us and the room was very nice and tidy

The kitchen etc is equiped but they could have included some basics like a bottle of water and a little bit of snacks,just as a welcome

Location is perfect. Downtown and near the conference center. There is some noise but the facility is equiped with white noise machine and earplugs. I had no trouble sleeping.

I had trouble accessing the property. Either someone reset the lock when they came out, or I hadn't pressed the enter button firmly enough. No on site support. Like much of the US, San Diego is expensive. Very nice, very friendly, city though.

Excellent location. Comfortable. Other reviews have mentioned noise. Yes, expect some on 5th Ave bar/club district. But I heard very little noise on the 3rd floor from Mon - Thur nights. (I stayed in a far noisier in Liverpool, UK a few weeks ago. ) Earplugs and a white noise machine are provided by Sonder.

The location was not what was expected. Upon check-in, I was informed the building was right in the middle of a popular bar area. I was provided ear plugs and a sound machine to mask the loud noise of the surrounding businesses. The Sonder was a decent enough place to sleep, but it wasn't a comfortable place I'd book again.

The room was located above a busy bar, it didn’t bother my friend at all but it did make it a little hard for me to fall asleep. The hotel did provide earplugs for this reason so I still had a good sleep but I wish this aspect was slightly better advertised as I wasn’t expecting it. The air conditioning was also very loud so bring good earplugs if you plan to stay here.

Noisy place, I couldn't sleep until 3am all days, It will be a good idea to post it on the listing so people can take an informed decision when booking, and not feel scammed. $100 refund for people who complaint is not going to keep you in business, being honest will.

So we were on the third floor and the music from the surrounding bars was loud but not unmanageable. If you're on the second floor... Good luck. You might as well be slamming shots next to the speaker. I need noise to fall asleep so the third floor was okay... I'd have had trouble on the second floor. Second floor has laundry machines btw and they're free, they even provided detergent in the room.

The location wasn't bad provided you didn't venture out too late or too early. Once everything closes in the area it can get very sketchy and I swear I was a coin flip away from getting mugged while waiting for my Uber to the airport around 4am. It's close enough walking distance to public transportation that will take you relatively close to anything.

Noise, cleanliness. Noise comes from location, so not Sonder responsibility, floor in kitchen area was sticky when we arrived, swept but not mopped, we call and they delivered a swifter quickly, problem solved.

The entrance into the building is not the cleanest and the walls are pretty thin so it was a little bit noisy but did not bother us too much. The bed could have been more comfortable.

The apartment was overall as expected. Amenities were good with lots of cooking utensils and coffee etc. The location is great if you want to be downtown in the middle of the action - however it is noisy as it’s right next to a bar so be aware of that. Check in was very convenient and easy.

Both bed and pull out couch were horribly uncomfortable. The shower was dirty and the water pressure was not strong at all. The noise from the nightclub next fire went on past 3AM. When we arrived the for was unlocked and open.

Your phone staff was great and very helpful. The kitchen was nice and there were plenty of clean towels.

My apartment was on the 4th floor on the back of the building, seemingly directly under the big ventilator connected to the restaurants downstairs. This machine creates a thick low humming noise the whole day through. However, Sonder provides good working ear plugs that helped me through the first night. The 2nd night I was already used to it and barely noticed the hum any more.

First of all, the apartment was very very clean. Kudos for the cleaners! I also loved how it was decorated, really nice and cosy. The fact that you can stream your own netflix on the big televison is very cool. How neat the cutlery was stored in a wooden tray in a drawer says all about the amount of attention they give to detail! How you think about the location depends on where you're from. It is in the middle of a street that has a big 'spring break' vibe. Lots of clubs and bars that go on till late. Coming from a city myself I do not mind, but if you're from a more rural area you might find it a bit overwhelming. For all the Europeans that like a decent cup of coffee, the Cuban place next to the entrance of the building has fantastic real coffee from a proper espresso machine ánd great home made cakes! There outside area is perfect to sip your coffee while watching al that's going on in the street. The apartment is on 5th avenue that is very central near the trams and bus stops that can bring you anywhere in and around San Diego. Visit Balboa Parc in the weekend!

The noise from the club next door and downstairs is pretty loud when it's open at night, though for me and my girlfriend it was managable since we had earplugs provided by the place so they are at least aware of it being a problem. It's not really the hotel's fault for that.

It was very clean and comfy and cozy. It was like having our own apartment complex. Bathroom offered soap and shampoo and the kitchen was nice and had all utensils. Brung my Laptop and used the HDMI to connect to the Tv to watch movies and Tv Shows so that's nice. It's a REALLY good place and has tons of nice restaurants nearby just walking distance and a grocery store if you want to cook. If you bring the right things then it can be a wonderful place. If there wasn't a club right next door it would probably be the best one Ive been too honestly.

- The bathroom could get a bit stuffy so make sure that when not in use you leave the door open - I wish the linens (towels and sheets) were softer cotton. They were pretty basic quality— not bad but not good. I have sensitive skin so this is more of a preference than a necessity but it does not cost that much to buy at least decent quality cotton towels and sheets. You can get it from Target. - I wish they notified/warned us that on the date we went the whole block was barricaded for a block party because we were unable to park on that street. I would have brought a roller suitcase if I knew I’d have to park a few blocks away and pay $50/day for parking. The cheaper parking structures were either full or were inaccessible because of the barricades.

Just cast from your phone to the TV. - Free wifi - We were warned ahead of time that the hotel is above a nightclub and is loud on weekends. Staying downtown is always loud on weekends so if noise bothers you, this is not the neighborhood you want to stay in. - In the middle of the action

Elevator was not for working for 3 days. Room was not the same as my book, much smaller room size. No laundry facilities inside the room as mentioned, it was outside the room. Customer service never responded to any inquires.

I wasn't ready for that amount of noise from neighbouring bar and night club. They kept yelling, shouting in a microphone and turning music on maximum until over 3 a.m. Then people were collecting bottles clinking the glass loudly and at 5 a.m. the street cleaning started. This place is nice inside and perfect for guests who want to party the nights away. The other thing is the cleaning fee we pay and get dusty floors on arrival — our socks turned black after 5 minutes walking inside. That was a surprise.

The design is beautiful and comfortable — the 4 of us felt great despite small floor plan. The kitchen has the most necessary appliances, the bathroom is gorgeous, the soap and shampoo are wonderful. Kids enjoyed sleeping on the sofa and we loved the bed and soft pillows. The codes for locks worked perfectly, great idea! Finally we were granted early check-in upon arrival, got it confirmed through the app free of charge!

Not a complaint in any way, as I chose the location specifically because I wanted to be in the heart of nightlife, but the location was right above a restaurant-turns-nightclub, so there was quite a bit of noise. I didn't mind it, but just know that you'll definitely hear some revelry below you!

Great location in the heart of the Gaslamp District. First time using Sonder, but the process was easy to get into the room. Very clean, comfy bed, plenty of space - couldn't ask for much more.

The sink in the bathroom didn’t drain and I think the room needed more mirrors throughout the place.

I liked the location and the decor of the hotel. It was tidy and made for a convenient stay for myself and my friends as we like to go out and explore the bars and shopping.
