I think overall the concept of these chain hotels needs to improve. They are ok but not great! There is a lack of design and creativity in these spaces to make them more unique. Also, the breakfast is not good. These hotels need to up their game when it comes to espresso machines and quality of food. Maybe take a trip to Europe to see how they do it there.

We really liked how spacious the room was. We also liked the beds being comfortable and the bedsheets very nice and clean. Ample place for parking.

Breakfast was good. However, I stayed there 13 days and food options were always the same. It would have been nice if they changed from time to time.

Residence Inn is a very nice set of apartments in La Jolla. Very close to UCSD and supermarkets. It is very quiet and facilities are great. I loved I can get coffee and tea at anytime from reception.

Large spacious family suite with 2 full bathrooms were a plus. Plenty of parking. Proximity to shops , attractions and restaurants. Very quiet property. Very attentive and professional staff.

The weather was very humid. While I used the AC in the room, it also felt a bit humid in the room. Not sure there's much they can do about that. So not really a "ding" against the hotel.

The room was a good size for our needs and I liked that it has a full kitchen. I was able to find parking close to our room and grateful that we got a room on the ground floor (no stairs to climb with all our stuff). The breakfast was plentiful and staff attentive to cleaning and ensuring the area was pleasant and well maintained. Overall it was a very good visit.

Random recurring noise (like mechanical gurgling sound) on the other side of wall (outside - in mechanical area, not heat or ac unit). Made sleeping difficult - left fan on all night to have some "white noise". Parking was hit and miss. Lots available on the property, but right in front of our unit got filled up quickly - had to park a few buildings away.

Some of the houses were covered wrt pest control. The idea that a day later the apartments were rented again, gave some discomfort. I guess it will all be within safety limits, but the idea, that my room was possibly also treated with chemicals the days before is not a comfortable idea.
