The hotel had character and our room had a view of the river. The have a very reasonably priced package tour where you stay overnight in a cabin in the jungle after a full day of activities and canoeing down the river. We took it and the family loved it. The hotel is in a quiet part of town, but only a few blocks from the main plaza and the beach where all the monkeys play.

We really enjoyed our stay here! The gardens are super beautiful, and the owners are very nice and accommodating. The rooms are also clean and comfortable. I am very allergic to mosquito bites and, luckily, we had no issues at all sitting outside of our room at night.

We absolutely loved our stay at Rio Napo Lodge. I guess we went out of season (November) but it was still surprising that we seemed to be the only guests. We had the use of the wonderful pool to ourselves, which was nice. But the resort deserves better. The staff went out of their way to make sure everything was how we wanted it. At the time of our visit, the bridge to Puerto Misahualli was still out but for a minimal sum (about a dollar) you could take a boat across to town, which was much more fun than driving anyway.
