The view from the room was beautiful, and the host was very friendly and helpful. They also left us delicious desserts in our fridge each day which was a lovely personal touch.

Our host Mr Nakashima was very kind and generous during our stay. He always replied to our messages via bookings.com very quickly, so it was easy to ask any questions and get help whenever we needed. When we had to change our travel dates and book a different room for the last day, he was very understanding and went the extra mile to assist us in transferring our luggage to the new room. Needless to say, the cottages themselves were adorable and lovely! Very clean and spacious, and the beds were comfortable. The best thing is the shoe dryer machine provided in the room. Because it rains so much in Yakushima, that device was invaluable in preparing our footwear for another day of adventure as they would be dry in no time! On the only one clear night we experienced, we were able to see some stars outside the room. The atmosphere is peaceful and you can hear birds chirping in the morning. It rained almost every day we visited, and yet we truly enjoyed our time in Yakushima thanks to the warm welcome from his family & colleagues, and appreciate all the help (especially advising us on the correct port to go for our departure ferry).

The food was sublime! Seriously. Everything tasted amazing. The cabins themselves are very high quality. They did not cut corners. Everything you need is in the kitchen and the washing machine worked great too. The private bath with large window was a centerpiece and a soak in the tub was transformative!!

친척집에 와서 쉬는 것 같아 편안했어요. 각종 편의시설(세탁기 건조기, 주방용품 등)도 고르게 갖춰져 있어 좋았고요. 욕실도 정말 좋았습니다. 아이들이 욕실 무척 맘에 들어했어요. 책과 DVD도 있어서 심심할 틈이 없었습니다. 숙소에 다른 분들이 남긴 방명록 읽는 재미도 쏠쏠했습니다. 며칠 더 있고 싶었어요!! I rested comfortably. I really liked the accommodation. The children loved the Japanese bathroom very much. The various amenities were also great. We had a special time in this house. The surrounding scenery was beautiful, too. It was fun to read the guest book. I even want to stay for a few more days.
