It’s the perfect little city to use as a base for exploring this area is eastern Tyrall. Call there’s plenty to do here in any season. In the winter there is skiing, paragliding, cross-country skiing, walking through the beautiful valley. In the summer there is rafting, mountaineering, lots of hiking and other outdoor activities. The people are really wonderful and friendly and there are many other places to visit nearby. Just beautiful scenery everywhere you look!!! We found numerous delicious restaurants including Kirchenwirt and Adler Stube. We also absolutely loved the café at the top of Zettersfeld… The ski area. It was so cozy and cute and the scenery was just stunning 360° views of the Alps. Great food. We went to paragliding with the Bruno Girstmair Flight school. Incredible experience. Flying above the alps. Words cannot even describe it

Lienz was a very nice town, with plenty of variety for shopping, drinking coffee and eating the most amazing cakes. The ski lift can be reached on foot or bus. The views from the top were amazing as was the cafe where you can have lunch, sit outside and enjoy the sunshine, after skiing..

Beautiful location but didn't have enough time to visit the castle or walk about The Alpine coaster was great, as was the cable car up to the top of the mountain. Stunning views of the whole area and behind. I would recommend Lienz to anyone who is visiting the Alps region. It's a great starting point!
super cosy!!! Amaaazing mountain view at night!!! very easy to check in & out!! very helpful staff on the phone to direct me and explain self check in. As there is another hotel - servicing the ” Falkenhorst” - they even offered an ” early check in”- to leave my luggage at their location until I could check into my room on the other site!! Very pleasant surprise for such a short stay!!!
The location is just perfect in the city center. Lots of restaurants and shops around. But also easy to get up to the ski area and other activities. The beds were comfortable and the linens were nice. Lots of windows and light. We were very happy with our stay here. It’s not like staying at a hotel. These are private rooms above an existing business.
Warm, welcoming host and family. Great on-site parking for the motorbike. Excellent clean facilities including cooking.. Bed comfortable , slept very well. Provided laundry facilities when asked if available. Close to excellent coffee shop, restaurants and walk to town. Woukd stay again when in Lienz next time. Highly recommend.
The location of the hotel is quite good, Tristach is a quiet and idyllic location close to Lienz. The staff at the Dolomitenhof was very friendly. There are a lot of hiking and biking paths in the region and most of them are quite accessible if you don't mind walking a bit
Is true that Lienz isn't a big town, but the structure is in the center, at walking distance from everything and in the same time, thanks to the amazing view, you have the feeling of being in the middle of the mountains. All is spacious and comfortable. Simply perfect.
Underground parking with direct access to hotel - free for my motorbike. Lots of bars and restaurants within a short walk around the centre. Lienz was a really nice town to explore. Room was big and comfortable. Breakfast had lots of hot and cold options.
Our family spent a week at Hotel Holunderhof and we had a fabulous time. The hotel is located perfectly for a ski vacation. The rooms are spacious and nicely furnished and the daily breakfast was delicious. We hope to stay again soon!
A spacious and really well equipped apartment. It has everything you need. It's a 5 minute drive into Lienz, or about a 20 minute walk. The owner is available to help with suggestions for the local area.
This guest house is a treasure. The wood paneled stube in the dinning room and the plentiful antiques were rare and impressive. The view overlooking Lienz brought beauty to each window each day.
Loved the place. I think i made the best choise i could do. Maybe the best hotel in the area. Very polite and gently staff and the breakfast was great. Also the view is outstanding
Very clean and comfortable. Very friendly and kind owners. Great breakfast every morning. We stayed a week and absolutely loved Falkenstein and Lienz. Would recommend it 100%.
