Very nice staff. My son wanted to play table soccer but we didn't have any cash with us. The lady at the reception desk had no idea how she could ad the needed 50 cents to our bill so she took 50 cents out of her own wallet and donated it to my son.
It was her first day on the job. Very kind of her!

I have been to that part of the eifel very many times over...
I have been to that part of the eifel very many times over the years and they are many activities and things to do in the area. It is easy to visit the local towns of Schleiden, Gemund and Kall and there many activites and places of interest in the area in cluding the Mosel River, Koln, Aachen etc.

Schleiden is quite small, but it does have all the necessaties: a pharmacy, a couple restaurants/bars, supermarket and a gas station for instance. The village is easily accessible and if you want you could even walk from there to park Eifel (aprox. 13 km). We ate at Taverne Samos, and it was good food! From the moment we stepped through the entrance, we were greeted with warm smile and good service. This hotel truly knows how to make guests feel special. They made sure we had all the information we needed for a comfortable stay and even provided some excellent recommendations for local attractions and dining options. The hotel's location was ideal, it is near Eifel national park attractions. I can only recommend Hotel Haus Salzberg garni.

The kitchen is well equipped, the living room is cosy and the bed (room) is very comfortable. Everything was clean and looked proper. The host was very friendly and gave some good tips for attractions to visit close by (for instance Vogelsang IP). And the location is perfect, hiking trails start right around the corner and there is a restaurant within 5 minutes walking distance where delicious schnitzels (and other dishes) are served.

Schleiden is not very big but has some places to eat. The house is very close to the Dreiborner Hochfläche, ideal starting point for hiking, cycling or running. The owner lives closeby and it is easy to ask for help and advice. We received good recommendations.
