Rooms at The Deck, Penarth, hotel in Cardiff

Located in Cardiff, 1.3 km from Cardiff Bay, Rooms at The Deck, Penarth provides accommodation with a terrace, free private parking, a restaurant and a bar.

Our floating room was absolutely stunning. The bed was very spacious and the decor of the room and bathroom was beautiful. We stayed here on our way home from a week in a lodge with a hot tub in Pembroke and we thought that place was gorgeous, so to find this gem on our way home too was pretty lucky. It was our first year anniversary and it was made even more special by staying at The Deck. Nice food, lovely staff, and beautiful scenery. We booked a 2nd night within 10 minutes of arriving to our room/pod as we wanted more time to enjoy. My partner and me will definitely be returning😊

FAQs about hotels in Cardiff

The Pride of Wales

Capital of Wales, Cardiff is a wonderfully green city steeped in national pride. At its heart is enormous Bute Park, divided by the River Taff and named after the marquis that once lived in Cardiff Castle overlooking it. In fact, this is just one of 5 castles within the surrounding area.

Over the road is Cathays Park, a beautiful square flanked by Edwardian architectural masterpieces including Cardiff City Hall and the excellent National Museum of Wales. Another must-see is St Fagan’s National History Museum, one of Britain’s top attractions.

From Victorian arcades to the fabulous St David’s Centre, shopping in Cardiff is a delight. And there’s no shortage of pubs and restaurants in which to rest awhile. Those by Cardiff Bay offer particularly pleasant views.

Also by the bay are the futuristic National Assembly for Wales and the Wales Millennium Centre. Another year 2000 landmark is the Millennium Stadium, a state-of-the-art venue for international rugby and football matches, as well as concerts. Next door is Cardiff Arms Park, home to the city’s rugby union team, while Cardiff City FC’s new stadium is in the west.

Cardiff Airport is further west near Barry and Booking.com have an excellent range of hotels, B&Bs and apartments both near there and in the city centre.

There is not that much places to see and do . Quite small city. Such a beautiful marina. And seaside view. We went there by car so travelling it wasn't difficult for us. We stayed at Penarth Marina such a beautiful area. First night We had dinner at the Deck hotel where we stayed, it was very good. There are many restaurants around and in the city. There was nothing avoid on the next visit.

Please don’t go there the windows are covered with privacy sheets. You cannot see out of them in any of the rooms that I saw. Your bookings can be mixed up and the chef shouts at you as I said before Gordon Ramsay eat your heart out. He will shout at you if you have an allergy and you have to leave. And when they commit data protection breaches by putting your details on somebody else’s booking, they say they haven’t done it even though you’ve got photographic evidence

St Fagans living museum was great and loved the castles. Visited Cardiff Bay but otherwise there wasn’t more than 2 days worth of sights. There are more things to do as day trips but can be done from a less busy area than Cardiff. There was a great bit of traffic.

    Cardiff is a wonderful city.

Cardiff is a wonderful city. The people are very friendly, and it is a lovely place just to walk around. It's relatively small, so it's easy to navigate, and it has a A LOT of pubs, and bars. The sun came out on one of the days we were there, and I think everyone within 5 miles came out too, but it just made for a great day. Everyone was just enjoying themselves. I would highly recommend it for a weekend away.

Just checked out of Central Retreat and had such a lovely stay there, everything was great, very clean and comfortable. Lovely comfortable king size bed. The apartment is really spacious and was equipped with everything we needed. The location was perfect for walking into the City Centre and Cardiff Bay . Parking was free and just outside the door. 😁 Loved the complimentary Welsh cakes and coffee machine! Lovely breakfast from the bakery around the corner too: ) I wish we had stayed longer, we will definitely be back!!!

Beautiful home located by a golf course. Our rooms consisted of a large bedroom upstairs and a kitchenette downstairs. Throughout, everything was immaculate. The property is within walking distance of several eating establishments and about four miles from Cardiff city centre. It’s a short walk to the train station. By chance, we happened to be in Cardiff when King Charles paid a visit so the city was alive and vibrant.

The location was perfect for me and my family, the property is very close to the Bay and also City centre. As you can imagine having 2 toddlers and a 7 year space is needed when staying away so this was perfect for us.
