Beautiful views with a pool & sun loungers in attractive gardens.
Sitting in 120 hectares of Douro Valley vineyards, this traditional manor house has been converted into Portugal’s first wine hotel.

Quinta Nova is an amazing experience and the location and views are outstanding, the staff were lovely, although language was sometimes a challenge, they may have been a little short staffed while we were there as we did have to wait a while when we ordered drinks a few times. The position and overall experience was wonderful.
Situated in a former 18th-century wine estate, this luxury hotel overlooks vineyards and the Douro Valley.

Location was great- so close to central Pinhao and train station / boat port. You could walk to cafes and restaurants close by. The host Pedro was excellent and bought fresh bread rolls to us each day as part of our breakfast. The breakfast was basic but nice and adequate. Room was clean and tidy and bed was comfy. The apartment was dated but for the prices in Pinhao it was good value for money and a great location. The host was fantastic and assisted us to pay via PayPal as the only methods of payment are cash or paypalfor the accom
Located in a wine producing estate, on the right bank of Douro River, Quinta De La Rosa is a family owned property, 2 km from Pinhão. Rooms at this working vineyard are spread over several levels.

We loved the old Manor House and the location. The view was stunning. Beautiful swimming pool and the staff were very nice and attentive. No complaints about the service at all.

I have stayed at houndreds of hostels the last few years while travelling. And I can definitely say that this is one of the best. It is very new and functional, but also cozy. But at the end it always comes down to the staff/people running the place: Sara and Pedro, you are amazing! This kind of service and kindness is very, very rare!
On average, 3-star hotels in Pinhão cost € 135.14 per night, and 4-star hotels in Pinhão are € 146.38 per night. If you're looking for something really special, a 5-star hotel in Pinhão can on average be found for € 373.19 per night (based on Booking.com prices).
It is a small town in a beautiful setting. The solar boat ride was really nice - we went in the late afternoon when most of the boat traffic had settled down. There are at least four wineries where tasting is possible (although we didn't participate). We really enjoyed the restaurant Cozinha da Clara just outside of the village - they served the best pork we had ever eaten. The Vintage House has a lot of character and is a lovely place to stay.

Pinhao is a great town to based in Douro Valley.
Pinhao is a great town to based in Douro Valley. There are tons of wineries and restaurants on the town level to walk to and also up in the hills. You can come to Pinhao by train from Porto easily and then walk or take cabs to get to wineries. Don’t leave without taking a private or group boat trip for amazing scenery. If you take the train from Pinhao to,the last stop going east and then turn around and return to Pinhao this has beautiful views too. We loved staying at Casa do Casal de Loivos (it is up in the hills but a 10 euro cab ride will take you into town). The view from there are unmatched. We also loved staying one night at Casa De La Rosa, which has an amazing restaurant and beautiful terrace with a swimming pool. You can walk into Pinhao town from Casa De La Rosa so it is a convenient location.

I recommend staying at least a night at Douro hostel, a home away from home (and honestly the best hostel I've ever stayed in, more like a guest house). Staying a night will give you the time you need to explore the hills, vineyards. Make sure to pop into the local butcher for some incredible cured pork and cheese!

We drove to Pinhão.
We drove to Pinhão. The roads are slightly terrifying but the views are spectacular.
We were there in March so not everything was open. Best restaurant was Writers Place! The walking trails through the vineyards were fantastic!

The perfect spot to explore some of the lovely Quintas the Douro Valley has to offer. Would definitely recommend Pinhao as your base. We drove to Pinhao from Porto which was great for sight seeing and super easy. We visited the three Quintas that are within walking distance from Pinhao train station which were lovely. I’d recommend making a reservation in advance for dinners or lunch where possible. But we also did a few walk ins.

Pinhao is stunning. with good selection of restaurants in the evening. Beautiful wineries. As the wineries are built into cliffs the drive to Pinhao and around is not for the faint hearted. The roads are very narrow some without safety barriers. However if you can get past this it is worth it for the scenary. It is a sleepy village but everyone is so friendly. One or two days maximum is enough.
The hosts were exceptional in every way. I especially liked how Pedro gave me maps with places to hike, to eat, to experience wine tastings, etc. The hostel k was exceptional with a kitchen, tables for eating, a refrigerator for guests. On the upper level of the hostel is a wonderful terrace with tables, a beverage refrigerator, a clothes washing space and a garden. A great place to socialize with the hotel hosts and guests. I’ve stayed at a lot of hostels in Portugal and Spain. I rate this as my number one hostel stay.
Fantastic tucked on a hill surrounded by olive trees and vines (perfect for a morning hike) and located at walking distance to the Pinhao town. The House has a real homy feel to it and is well appointed. The fridge was stocked perfectly for us to make nice breakfasts in the morning and the clothes washer was a nice bonus as we are traveling across country. We also enjoyed a nice evening using the wood burning BBQ. This house is perfect to enjoy this incredible wine country and the beautiful views it offers.
Location was beautiful, lovely view from our upstairs room, lots of outside space to enjoy wine, very quiet. The staff were extremely helpful and hard working, and despite being down some staff members, really took time to talk and help us out. Large and beautiful property. The drive out from Pinhoa was lovely. Pinhao was extremely busy and bustling, we were happy to be a little away from that in such a peaceful setting.
The region is beautiful and the location of the hotel is very privileged. The views from the vineyards are breathtaking. Staff were friendly. We had a great experience at Cozinha da Clara for dinner and the breakfast served there was also good. Bed was comfortable and the room was clean. There was a file in the room with information about the region and the story of the winery which was interesting and a nice touch.
Close to the centre of Pinhao, the Douro is beautiful. Pedro, the owner, is great, very helpful guy. Have a drink (or two) and a sandwich in his bar Cafe Imperio opposite the station! He gave us some great tips for walks, brought fresh bread everyday to go with the breakfast food in the fridge, and sorted out our washing! Comfy bed too.
This is simple comfortable accommodation.
The pool has a beautiful view. The hotel is newer and clean and the breakfast was good with a lovely terrace. Our large balcony was lovely in the morning. The evening staff was absolutely fabulous! She wore all of the hats; front desk, bartender, snack maker, tour guide and entertainment. She made our stop in Pinhao worthwhile.
This was a well appointed entire home with at least two bedrooms, located conveniently in Pinhão. Excellent communication and self-checkin made it convenient. Allowed us to relax and enjoy the locale, and also launder our clothes. The WiFi worked well and the ‘street’ is quiet.
The hotel was fantastic. The room was nice and spacious with an excellent balcony looking over the Douro region. The pool area was a great place to spend time at. The staff were really friendly and alway willing to help with any requests. Great selection for breakfast as well.
It's an amazing hotel, best location it could possibly have.
We had a wonderful breakfast outside, fresh fruit, natural orange juice and everything we could possibly want!
Very helpful and friendly staff. And please go to the pool if you stay at The Vintage House!
There were a few options for breakfast which was great and we were very happy with our choice.
The location is about 10 minutes from Pinhao but we knew this when we booked. The location is very nice and it was great to sit on the patio overlooking the vineyards.
I am usually suspicious of places where the reviews seem too good to be true, but every glowing review has been well earned. Pedro and Sara could not have been more friendly and hospitable hosts, and our experience in Pinhao was made by our stay in the hostel.
Lovely location. Pinhao is a beautiful town and all the places in the town are walkable. The host Francisco made our stay memorable and helped us at every stage. The house has all the facilities and makes one feel at home.
A family run hotel and winery that's nestled in the hills of Pinhao. Might have been the most quiet room I have ever slept in. Wine tastings and tours are also offerred here - I would highly reccomend.
Pinhao is a lovely place and a beautiful location. Great selection of good quality restaurants. Beautiful scenery. Real nice 'vibe' about the entire place. Host was very helpful.
The location is very central to Pinhao and the nearby quintas. The terrace would be great for a sunny day. The kitchen was well-equipped for our needs.
